Hi guys. The past 3 days I’ve had severe upper back pain. I was actually convinced it was a kidney infection because the pain was so severe but I’m starting to think it’s more muscular as my arms feel weak and tingly and it’s actually painful to the touch. I haven’t done any heavy exercise or anything that was cause me a twisted back. Is severe upper back pain something you experience with fibromyalgia?
Upper back paon: Hi guys. The past... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Upper back paon
I get that a lot babe it's defo fibromyalgia me u think it's your organs some times then pain moves round x
Thank you!! Was starting to freak out incase it’s more serious x
No prob I to get it in ribs at the front scary symptom in fact my worse xxxx
I agree with Lola this has to be one of the worst symptoms for me I also have it right under my rib cage at the front, very weak arms and so tingly and painful. I have found the only way to relieve it is doing absolutely nothing and placing a low heat temperature in the form of a pad my other half bought me a heat pad that I can literally wrap around my body with different heat settings. You just have to give in nothing takes the pain away no medication just rest until it passes I have this from waking to bedtime.
I have had numerous scans etc all perfectly normal 😡.
Hope this helps 🥰🐼💜

Thanks so much for your reply. I’ve been having weakness all in my body especially arms and hands and feeling very drowsy. I’ve been starting to look it up and things like motor neurone disease have been popping up and I’ve completely freaked myself out!! I’ve only just turned 22!! It’s all so new to me 😕xx
Oh my goodness so young, life is so blooming unfair. I know I used to google everything and convinced myself I had everything from A to Z there are so many layers to fibromyalgia it’s like an onion peel one layer something else peel another layer bang another thing it’s never ending unlike a good cake unfortunately lol. If your ever in doubt pop on and do a post I have found everyone so friendly and informative and it really puts your mind at rest 🥰💜🐼
Hi, back pain can be a symptom of fibromyalgia - but if it's a new pain, or significantly increased in severity them it is worth seeing your gp about it if it continues .
I have suffered for weeks in the past with what I thought was a flare up of my usual pain and it was a kidney infection all along, and more recently a similar infection was caught early because I recognised the increase in pain - gp said if I had left of much longer she would have admitted me to hospital for iv antibiotics.
So, however easy it is to say it's fibro or just muscular ... It's not always the case xxx
Back pain is almost the entirety of my fibro. I get it all over and when it is really bad it is at its worst on my upper back. It affects my legs (they get leaden and sore), my ability to do anything and my breathing. It is INCREDIBLY exhausting and makes it hard just to stand up and walk.
Hi, when I was first diagnosed I told the consultant I felt like I had wings wanting to Break through my back and come out of my shoulder blade area. He said no one had ever described it like me before but understood what I meant. Thank goodness for people with an open mind to how we feel.
I have this as well Dr. keeps telling me it's costochondritis. I get the pain under my left rib towards the back and the center of my chest and also under my right ribs in the front. What is the name of this besides fibromyalgia? I tried looking up depo fibromyalgia but nothing is coming up. Thanks for the help hoping that you're feeling better
Kidney pain has always been around my waist but have since had them blasted so stones gone.
See your doctor to rule out any heart issues with fibro its a mine field better safe than sorry hope you feel better soon.
