Morning I take one tablet at night 60mg, I sleep okay most nights, Have a catch up with your GP over the phone and tell him you are sleeping more in the day, I do also suffer from cfs so I do have days with chronic tiredness even if I have slept well the night before xx

I take duloxetine 3 times a day but not at bedtime. I do morning lunch and dinner. Maybe you could try that. That way if it is keeping you up then you have a break between dinner and bed.

I had that, just take meds in the morning instead. 😃

Hi Emmastclair. I have been taking Duloxetine for 7 years now, however I can only take it in the mornings. If I take it after mid day it does affect my sleep. However for me, it keeps me awake. I have also previously taken Amitriptyline, but had to give up on that. I did sleep better at night - but was also dopey by day with it. It also made my mouth so dry that I couldn't speak.

It might be a good idea to have a word with your doctor Emma. It sounds like perhaps the medication you are on is disagreeing with you. Although Duloxetine suits me, and keeps me awake if I take it after mid day, I have a friend who cannot take it, as it makes her too dopey to do anything. She also cannot take Pregabalin or Amitriptyline for the same reason. There are a few options, so perhaps a discussion with your GP might be the answer to finding the right medication for you. Good luck.

I took amitriptyline for 4 months, but not only got +6kg weight, my pulse went up, my eyes couldn't accomodate well, I was dopey and tired all day, dry mouth and cough and then realised my seizures had gone up because of it .... The last doses I took at 6pm, earlier than told, because of the drugginess the next day.

Now without it all this is better, and I of course hardly ever sleep more than 1 or 2 hours in a piece, but still get up to 8 or 9 hours (7 used to be enough, now it has to be more than 8), sometimes it takes 10 or 11 hours tho.

I if I'm too wide awake I do something for a few hours till I'm tired again. Sometimes I do autogenic training, but it doesn't really get me to real sleep, but substitutes it a bit.

I had about 10 causes for waking up at night, a topper on my mattress plus osteopathy plus trigger-pointing when necessary got the pains down, blinds for the light, ear plugs or even noise-reducing headphones in the clinic for noises. Turning my mac to night shift mode after 7pm and until 9am. To find this out I've been keeping a sleep diary in my pda since it started at the beginning of my full flare 9 months ago, writing down (abbreviated) why I woke up, what I tried to alleviate it and how many minutes (5 or 10) I'll probably be up or if necessary the end time, if it's more than that. I don't count going to sleep times and snoozing times I count that as real sleep now, that stresses less and helps.

What remains is my nose often closing up in the middle of the night -> getting up or nose-strips. Going to loo 3-6x: Slightly better drinking my 2 litres before 2pm. And usually a 1min. cold shower against pain or ache and cuddling back in the warm blankets does the trick. I'll try to increase that more now instead of doing something like exercises for pains.

Hi All,

I am about to change from Nortriptoline to Duloxatine as I suffer sweating with current. I have to say nervous about changing tbh. I’m on low dosage by choice as suffer a lot of other conditions that higher dosage would not be recommended for.

Anyone tell me any side effects experienced etc please?

X
