I have been told by my rheumatologist I have fybro that was five years ago , it’s just still hard to accept it can be very life changing and so painful , it’s worrying if a pain was life threatening and the gp says it’s fybro pain

there is the possibility that you may have something called shoulder impingement it can come on suddenly and like many medical things is not fully understood I have this in both shoulders and when it gets really bad requires steroid injection which I always put of till its the only option as my arms become absolutely useless when its at its worst . you can also have physio that can help .best wishes.

I get shoulder pain regularly,at first I was trying to work out if I had twisted it or pulled it but I have come to the conclusion that it is just another little gift from fibromyalgia! Just use heat/cold, warm bath, all the usual remedies. Sorry I can’t help more.xx

Yes I do, sometimes it seems to move from one shoulder to another, other times it’s both. Gentle Yoga stretches can help, or a massage, as long as they know it must be a gentle massage.

I also have bad shoulder pain, it hurts without my even moving, and leaves my arms very weak. The pain goes down my arms, so every movement hurts.

I didn't get any relief from steroid injections or physiotherapy, so now go privately for gentle deep tissue massage, which is the only thing to have helped so far. Left shoulder is much better than it was, but the right is much slower to respond. Apparently my muscles are very tight, so it's taking a while to loosen them up.
