Sorry to hear you are suffering shoulder pain, is it being investigated, have you had physio?
Sometimes a steroid injection will help and is worth considering.
As far as your UTIs, the Best Practice is that more than three in three months needs you to be referred to a urologist who may put a camera in to take a look. Do not be put off, it may be found that you need to stay on a low dose of daily antibiotics for six months to clear it once and for all. Do not leave it though, always best to get checked out.
Shoulder pain it has happen only second time i mote habe to mention thos to my gp.
Uti this year i had it 3 or 4 times already, but as i had cystoscopy in the past and all came back clear, gp thinks i suffer from overactive bladder π
Yes I suffer from dreadful shoulder pain and so far have had 2 steroid injections to help with the pain.
The first injection worked but the second one didn't.
As for the kidney infections, bladder problems in general are a symptom of Fibro.
I have had bladder problems for 30 years and lost count of the UTI's, infections, etc that I've had.
In fact I've had so many my old GP practice used to give me some antibiotics to keep at home so that as soon as I felt an infection coming on I could start the antibiotics straight away.
I wonder if you would mind me asking you if you constantly feel the need to pee? Apologies for the personal question!
Wishing you a peaceful day
Lu xx
PS If you haven't already seen a Urologist I would definitely ask your GP to refer you to see one.
Thanl you fpr your reply,I feel like iv got urge to be on tje toilet constantly π i had it done cystoscopy in the past and apparently all good,my gp reckon i suffer from over reactive bladder, it feels horrible but last few days just been much worst.
Regarding my shoulder is only second time that it happens, mite habe to consider gp visit Again π€
I too had a cystoscopy about 30 years ago but it didn't work and I ended up extremely ill afterwards. Long story!
I also used to have the urge to pee even immediately after having just gone for one.
I would strongly recommend that you see your GP and ask for a referral to a Urologist.
I was incredibly lucky when I was referred because I ended up seeing a Professor of Urology.
He said that I could either have more investigations done (no thanks!) or I could try a medication that is usually only prescribed for men.
After 30 odd years of hunting down toilets wherever I went I decided to try the medication.
It is truly not an exaggeration to say that the medication has utterly changed my life. Instead of trying to go for a pee twice an hour & about 5 times during the night I now go twice per day and pee like normal people
I doubt very much whether your GP would prescribe you this medication (although I am no doctor) but if you saw a Urologist I don't see why you couldn't ask for it.
An added bonus of the medication is that it has cut the amount of UTI's I get by around 98%.
I truly hope this information is of some use to you.
You're very welcome. As I said I am not sure if your GP would be able to prescribe this medication for you without you seeing a specialist Urologist first, due to the fact that it is usually only prescribed for men.
The Professor I saw was trialling it (with success) in women.
iv seen gp today, only gave me different antibiotic, and apparently there is no infection uti even if feels like it,but there is blood in my urine it has been like it for couple of times, thats why he keep giving me antibiotics! Err
I also ask for those tablets, he said is not licenced in this country to give it for a women at least is a kidneys stones?!oh well see how it goes if i still will have blood in my urine they will have to do something more i quess!
Shoulder pain is nearly gone,is coming and going luckily π at least ov got something positive to look at lol
I didn't think your GP would prescribe it to you as it is a specialised drug.
Insist on a referral to see a Urologist.
Having the urgent need to pee constantly is a nightmare.
I don't think a Professor of Urology would be prescribing me an unlicensed drug and my surgery contining to prescribe it for me on an ongoing basis if it was not licensed.
Hi I have terrible shoulder pain from day one I had 3 steroid injections and one was at ozzy under x-ray but didn't get even a day been pain free my shoulders in absolute throbbing pain constantly I've tryed everything xxx
Yes thats what mine concern is π£ but i really like my job and can't imagine not to work! My gp suggested to cut to 15h p/w, but my rheumatologist wasn't so nice abt it and said that ppl with this condition living normal life etc
It seems to getting worst when the weather changing and in the winter.x
I have shoulder pains all the time just depends on what degree. When it's really bad and trying to walk with my walking stick can be a little tricky I have the steroids injections but it didn't do anything other than put me in more pain but it's different for everyone so give it a go x
I am so truly sorry to read this and I also have this horrid shoulder pain all the time. It varies in intensity from hour to hour though. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
Hi JustynaFitt, I suffer with bad shoulder pains too and rub in warming creams, which helps a bit, I use an electric heated shoulder wrap from Lidl and a TENS machine. They are still painful.
I was getting UTIs that didn't show up on tests and then read about interstitial cystitis which seemed to fit. It also occurs with fibro.
I now use Probiotics for Women (from Amazon) and have been UTI free since, 90% pain free and frequency and urgency are almost normal.
I was taking D-Mannose regularly at one time, but haven't taken it in ages, it is really good for UTIs where E.Coli is the cause. Try googling D-Mannose, it is expensive, but works. There was talk of it becoming available on the NHS and research is being conducted in people with MS.
