Hello

Bad day yesterday again, never rains when it pores, I had my hearing test yesterday and it came back that I was moderate to serve death.

Ive also now decided to have all my hair cut off so it would be easy for me to do, as I'm having really bad pains in my wrist.

I keep having panic attacks as I've got my pip assessment on Monday and I'm so scared.

I have two hearing aids and like Mydexter I find them really helpful particularly when there is background noise. I do find though that having hearing aids, specs, and a mask I little excessive for my poor little ears though! My aids link to my phone which is very useful.

No need to panic about the telephone assessment. Just get organised beforehand. All paperwork in front of you, highlight anything you wish to discuss in further detail. Dont let them rush you and if you are not sure what they are asking, it's fine to ask them to repeat. If possible have the phone on speaker and have someone with you as a witness to what is said.

Good luck for Monday

Thank you guys, it is so wonderful to talk to people with simular problems, my next step is to speak with the doctor regarding my ears and hearing as the lady was concerned. Yeah I wear glasses, my appointment for my eye test is next week.

A mission with Tom cruise, made me smile. It funny how we make a situation like this funny. You guys keep me going.

I read somewhere on here I think that someone printed the assessment form off, my was all done my pen and paper so what I sent off is what I have. Im so confused when you say get all stuff together. I don't have much from the Dr's as they don't help, I've not quite started with my pain Management until sept, I've got appointments all over the place, I've got to contact the ot tomorrow to see where I stand with my extra Stair rail.

Here's a question, I live in rented accommodation does that matter would they still help?

Look forward to hearing from you guys soon

Have you got a report from the OT that would help your PIP claim, as would statements from friends, colleagues etc who know you well and have witnessed your difficulties. It’s not a case of what the clinical diagnoses are rather how they affect your day to day living and mobility.

My conditions have been going on for so long, I've only recently accepted them, over the last 2 years I've work for several companies and I've just broken down as I'm in so much pain, I only really have my dad and partner, they are very supportive and are actually the ones that told me how ill I really am.

I'm going to contact the social services Monday see if I can get an assessment.

Everything seems to happen all at same time

On the upside having hearing aids will get you 2 points on the pip assessment.

I so don't understand all this point system.

There are lots of sites where you can check up the score system and see how many points you can hope to achieve by filling in the form before applying.

Ask the OT for a report my daughter found they took more notice of their input .

Hey Dinks me old mate 😂.

I couldn't resist that. Luckily for me my hearing still seems to be OK.

Anything or anyone new to investigate/interrogate?

We need to get back to work and save the world 🌍

Indeed we do. Anything to get away from the constant politics on TV

Music to my ears, no pun intended 😂.

TV I find somewhat depressing,. I'd much rather be out in the field old chap 😁

What with all this shielding and social distancing stuff not a lot to investigate ☹️🙄 perhaps our comedy routine needs resurrecting in preparation for either open air performance or panto season😂

Now that's an idea. We must rehearse via Skype Sherlock

I’m not sure, the audiologist downloaded an App BeMore and I just switch it on my phone when I need it, but like handsfree in car. Everyone assumes I’m talking to myself when I use it 😂 but then again everyone knows I’m a bit strange so I change really😁

I fit in right here then. I'm ever so strange.

My dad says I have aliens in my stomach as I look like I'm pregnant all the time.

My new nickname is humpalumpa.

Are there any meetings where people get chance to meet up to chat about there conditions. I think that this would really help.

Back to hearing aids, the lady said I've got to choices, one wher I can pay for hearing aids costing from £500 up to £3500. Or I can go nhs.

I am so new to all this. My heads fried

My parrot mumbles in the same voice as my husband. Now the old man insists he doesn’t mumble - now I have the proof as hubby said “what’s he mumbling about 😂. I swear if he ever removes his beard all those mumbled words will come tumbling out.🤣

Hello there , I do have two hearing aids , I use them, for tv really as clarity on some actors speech is awful ,and then normally if I was out for a meal with friends in loud background noise, (which has been nil since Covid)I find at home I really don’t need them as quiet indoors but I do have longer hair so cannot seems them. I jump a mile sometimes when they go ting ting telling me batteries needed, but in all they really don’t bother me much, I Hope assessment goes well some good advice from dinkie ,have you been having panics awhile or recently because of your appointment, I’m awful when I know I’m going to the dentist xxx

Mine are private ones as NHS ones wouldn’t fit the shape of my tiny ears. Mine just charge from my computer or phone. Have to be careful as the puppy likes to nibble ears and I have this awful vision of one of my aids disappearing inside the dog😱. Husband and I both went at the same time to audiology dept - I’ve had my aids a year he’s still waiting for his NHS ones☹️

Hi Mydexter, hope you are well 😊xx

Hi, it didn't go at all, I had texted message this morning to say they need to rebook due to assessor being sick. So now I've got to wait for a new appointment.

Upside, I can gather more things together. I had my stress management and they was really good, apart from telling me I was depressed. They going to put me through to an employment team who will help decided if I am actually fit for work.

I'm feeling slightly better as things are starting to happen. Well sort of xx

As it is our conversations at home have us reduced to tears of laughter as he’s misheard something I’ve said. Don’t think the medics have time to decipher his misinterpretations
