Hearing tests

Hi all, just an ask, I had a hearing test with NHS in Jan of 22. I've not had a follow up since and nothing scheduled. I have NHS HA. Does anyone else get checkup appointments, and if so how frequently? Thanks

My 2nd post: I don't get on with hearing aids and feel one reason is that hearing tests are unreliable. Does anyone else here feel the same? I've had several this year alone. Specsavers only tested me on 6 frequencies, whereas the other tests were on 8.

I also had 2 hearing tests and was told my hearing was good for my age and I didn’t need hearing aids. I’ve done lots of research and I have to just live with it. I also have pressure in my ears which I don’t understand ? just need to speak to others to get some insight on how to manage it.

However, follow up hearing tests revealed it took 2 weeks for my right sided hearing loss to return to "normal". MRI of head, with dye, did not reveal a cause for the sudden onset hearing loss. Has anyone had hearing loss associated with GCA?

I was first diagnosed with tinnitus 8 years ago following hearing tests and MRI scan. At the time hearing aids were suggested along with an app to provide a gentle white noise to help mask my tinnitus.

Gp gave me the tinnitus website link and I keep reading about ENT appointments, hearing tests, etc. My mum and grandma had hearing loss and my mum had tinnitus and wore hearing aids and I told my Gp this.My tinnitus started after I caught Covid again and my endometriosis symptoms got worse too.

Hearing tests, audiologists, and ENTs clouded the picture more insisting I had no hearing loss. The foam plugs caused issues like infections, and other pains. I went to custom moulds. However, these cause a resonant 'occlusion effect' of a booming voice.

I have seen 2 separate ENT specialists who actually done very little and I have had 3 hearing tests which all revealed my hearing was OK. My vasculitis specialists believes my illness is isolated to my hearing and I am awaiting drug infusion when they finally get to my number in the queue.

Yesterday I attended a vestibule clinic, I had a hearing test which showed mild hearing loss. The tests shows I do not have vestibule issues, but she did say she could refer me to the tinnitus clinic, who could possibly use aids to drown out the high pitched screeching that is there constantly.

I have had hearing tests, blood tests, MRI’s of ears and brain, but no cause was found.

Went to doctors, had hearing tests, done an MRI, went to cardiologists in fear it was heart related- everything always came back fine. It became manageable and easy to ignore so I kept on except now I bought ear muffs to use during concerts in case ear plugs weren’t enough.
