Hi just asking if any one else gets bad heads with this or though mine seems to be on one side every time . And also do you get sleep problems as well I do some times I go to bed about 10.00 pm because I’m so tired but them I’m up again by 10.30 pm because I just can’t sleep as I’ve got so much pain and stiffness it would make me feel better if I know I’m not alone in these different things that keep being added to my list
Bad heads: Hi just asking if any one... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Bad heads
Sleep problems are one of the core symptoms of fibro. I tend to vary between falling asleep quite easily and sleep a couple of hours, or it takes me hours before I fall over. No matter how long I sleep, I always wake up unrefreshed and still feeling tired.
I also tend to be headachey ... These can vary from a general background ache to a throbbing, migraine type. I can have 3-4 days a week at least where I have some sort of headache. Xxx
If the headaches are severe with intolerance of light and or sound and always on one side, they could be migraines. I would speak to your GP about them and see if you can find some medication to help with them, both headaches and insomnia are common symptoms of fibro unfortunately. The only thing that may possibly help with sleep is amitripylene, quite a lot of people find it helps but it doesn’t work on me unfortunately. Other things you can try are things like a hot bath before bed, hot milky drinks, good sleep hygiene and lavender oil or I’ve been using lavender and lemon recently which I feel is helping me feel more refreshed in a morning as well as sleeping a little better. Hope you can find something that works.
I have bad headaches too but I also suffer with migraines. Like you I always have pain in one side of my head (left), I take amitriptyline which is used to prevent them. My dosage does go up and down but I usually take a 20mg every night, but because I am on another medication to help with depression and anxiety I can only go up to 70 mg. If you have light sensitivity and flickering stars in your eyes or similar it's possibly a migraine.
Hello!
I understand how you feel! I've had headaches/migraines/tension headaches on and off since childhood (one sided or all over). When there's some fibro pain flaring up on top of that, it can seem unbearable. I also have issues with sleep at times, either I take a really long time to fall asleep, or I can't stay asleep. It's quite ironic, since our bodies are always tired and fatigued! Constant pain can feel isolating, even more so now since we're cut off from our regular socializing. You're definitely not alone! You can do this😊!!!! Hope you can get some more restful sleep soon, take some breaks during the day if you can!!!
Hi sorry you’re struggling with your fibro. Headaches and not sleeping are everyday symptoms of fibromyalgia for me. When I do sleep I’m often woken up by severe head pain, so much so that I always have pain medication and water on my bedside unit as sometimes it’s so bad I can’t get up. You’re not alone and I’m sure you’ll get many responses saying the same. I hope you find a way to get some rest and relief from the pain. Take care.
The pain on one side of the head I defo get on a regular basis. It is always on the right side over my ear and going round to the back of the head, feels like someone has hit you hard with something. Sleep problems - yes all the time.
Love and gentle hugs
