Sore ankles: Hi all my ankles have... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Sore ankles
I would mention this to your GP, as swollen ankles can be a sign of a few other things, and not necessarily fibro.
Try bathing your feet in the Epsom Salts and warm water every night for a couple of weeks, and see if it makes any difference.
Also make sure that you are wearing comfortable footwear - perhaps something with Velcro fastening for example, that you can loosen a bit as your feet swell, to allow for more comfort.
I hope you get some ease soon.
Hi Oscarlola I have exactly the same problems it’s worst first thing in morning , I do bath in Epsom salts very day & I think it helps & wear comfortable shoes , mine started a month ago I put it down to a fibro problem , I cream my feet with a nice cooling foot cream every night & morning that seems to help also doesn’t completely go away but makes it easier to walk , hope that helps & you get some relief.
Hi Oscorla
It must be so difficult, especially if you have to be on your feet all day.
Definitely have a word with your doctor, which may lead to an appointment with a podiatry/biomechanical department. But as you know things haven't picked up just yet.
As MOAL61 says. There could be other underlying issues.
Also look at your footware and having shoes which are adjustable could help, as our feet do swell during the course of the day.
There are Lots of insoles and arch supports out there, so I would defInately talk to someone before you buy. I get some from my chiropody department & I have bought them too, just so that I have extra pairs at hand. They cost £25-£40. So don't spend money till you're absolutely sure they're the right ones as some can be quite rigid & could cause you more discomfort.
A foot bath using Epsom salt and/or Dead Sea salt, combined with Peppermint essential oil, could offer some relief. Soak and massage. ( you can find some good ready made foot lotions)
Mint is an incredible cooling agent, with can help digestion and lower blood pressure. However I do appreciate that it is not to everyone's taste.
All the best.
I get awful ankle & foot pain & restless leg syndrome but no swelling. I'm also OK walking (if I have energy) but can't stand for more than a few minutes. Haven't found anything that gives any relief so no useful advice, I'm afraid.
I would speak to your GP first as fluid retention could be a symptom of something else. Must be so hard being on your feet at work
Thankyou fir your reply floofer it is hard standing on my feet all day and my back hurts it takes me some.time to.get in the car after I finish work but he ho hope your not in to much pain and i will speak to.my doctor thankyou.
