sorry to ask this but does fibro cause hard skin on feet please? I never used to have this problem. I wear trainers and comfy work shoe/boot type shoe as I work with heavy dollies/crates. and have gel inserts for insoles and wear a padded sock as my feet are so painful. I have fallen arches too.
I do rub hard skin off with ped egg and rub moisturiser into my feet after bathing everyday and sometimes wear socks to bed with thick cream on my feet too (I know I look so sexy! lol ) ive used that liquid that you paint on and eventually hard skin falls off and new skin is as soft as a babys botty but within a month the hard skin is back.
its very painful as its on my heel and cracks easily. my GP wont help as they don't treat feet and I cant afford to pay a chiropodist (sorry cant spell) any advice gratefully received. I cant wear flip flops (ones with a small wedge heel) as you can see it. just want to feet to feel cooler in summer and not to be stuck hiding my feet x

Hi afraid you have to keep at it. I read yesterday of a foot soak you put a quarter of a cup of listerine (you use the mouth wash) a quarter cup of apple vinegar and then half a cup warm water . mix well paint on feet leave five or so minutes wash of. It is supposed to bring the dead skin away.
I have hard skin on my heels and ball of my toes but hat could be normal.what I do have a problem with is shoes and boots.i get thru so many pairs of walking boots a year (from walking dogs-btu getting more difficult now)cos the heels wear out from the way my feet are.just started wearing inserts as have plantar fascilitis and dr gave me a list of exercises-best one -get a rolling pin and roll it under your foot -exercise without moving from chair.
I just thought it was because I can't bend to take care of my feet and toenails. I can't get in the bath without help andwith Hubby working such long hours I don't want to pressure him by reminding him about it. Hopefully I'll get my feet ready-ish or at least readier, for summer in time for our hols in August!
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are having this issue and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the problem.
I must admit that I was a little taken aback by your GP's reaction, as they can give you a referral to a Podiatrist at your local hospital who can help you with this issue? I have pasted the NHS Choices web page link for Podiatry below:
thankyou everyone for your replies; anbuma, I will definatly try the rolling pin exercise as my hubby does massage my toe joints at night and its lovely to ease my pain.
ken, thankyou I will definatly ask my GP to see a podiatrist. im in a lot of pain, even walking a gentle pace hurts x
I have a solution that may help. Mix 1/4 cup Listerine mouth wash, 1/4 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup of water. Soak for 10 minutes. Hope this helps sweetheart!!!
