Dry skin and hair

I've read with interest that some of you have had problems with dry skin. When my flare-up first started, my skin (mainly on my face) and my hair have become very dry. I posted a couple of weeks ago about my face being red and blotchy - this has now cleared up - I am taking an antihistamine every day and have applied face cream regularly. Has anyone else had problems with their hair? I find this quite distressing and with anxiety about my new FM diagnosis and Covid 19, I have been twiddling my hair and pulling it out (as it is very dry it gets into knots easily). It would be interesting to know if anyone else has this or is it just me?

Thank you for your advice. I have been trying olive oil and have just started to use coconut oil which seems to be doing the trick. My daughter bought some 100% virgin coconut oil in the skin care department - it's great - she smells very coconutty. However, due to the Corona virus, I could not go to the same shop where she got hers, so I bought some 100% virgin coconut oil but from the World foods aisle at the supermarket - I smell like a peshwari naan!!!! :)

May I ask what you have found successfully to use as a face cream? Everything I have tried out so far seems to have a drying effect on my skin.

I have used 100% virgin coconut oil (hair and face) and e45 cream and another cream suggested by doctor. I will have a look at that when I get home and let you know what it is called.

The doctor suggested I use Isomo gel. It is like a white cream, quite heavy so I wouldn't wear it out during the day. It is quite cheap and lasts for ages! Hope that helps! ❤️

Thank you, I will look into Isomo gel. A dermatologist recommended I apply drops of “Morro can” oil to wet hair. I think she meant to write Moroccan oil because that was all I could find. I think this has helped with my dry hair somewhat.

I have used Moroccan oil or argon oil as well.
