The drug amitriptyline is often prescribed in small dosages for pain conditions. It is important to investigate and observe yourself to see what effect it has.

If your problem is muscular control issues and fascia sticking issues then drugs are not going to help you deal with the issue. Pain killers do what they say on the tin. They kill pain and discomfort. You need to determine what is causing your problem to see if you can do something about it.

If you have muscular control issues then you need to re-train how you use your muscles. If fascia is sticking then you need to do something that will unstick the fascai.

I haven't personally taken Amitriptyline but quite a few forum members have found it helpful. I take Lyrica and it has helped the shooting, burning pains but it doesn't suit everyone. Good luck with the rheumi.x

Really thank you that's good to here I'm afraid it will spike my depression again did it effect your mood I've just recovered from post natal depression and I don't want to risk that spiking again it has been the hardest 3 years ever struggling to get my mental health right and now I feel like I am finally back to being me again I don't want to go backwards because of medication. Did it effect your mode.

It didn’t agree with me, but I did find duloxetine much better. And I’ve just come off 9 years of pregablin.

Hi Elizahl, I have been on Amitriptyline and I personally found that it didn't work for me, but I never heard of the other medication you have mentioned. I would ask your gp if they can put you on Sertraline that's what I'm taking now. Please let me how you get on. Xx
