Hi , I ve been diagnosed with fibro last week . I had a flare up a weeks ago so I got a cancellation with my Consultant as I have RA

For the last 3 years . I could hardly stand my hands wouldn’t hold anything .I was in a right mess tearfull I haven’t been sleeping for about 2 years and my memory is shot . I was so scared to go to my Gp as I think I ve got dementia. Anyway Consultant thinks I’ve got fibro and thinks I am depressed so put me on amitriptyline .

I ve been on them about a week and I feel more rested .

I feel happy to have found this site . I also have low thyroid and have thyroxine for this .I think they are all connected but drs and nurses all say it is stable and my meds are correct .

How many grams are you on? And any side effects yet? Glad to hear its helping

10 mg at night .yes thanks Iam getting more sleep .

I can up the dose if I want . The consultant said I could ask my gp for other meds if this dos nt work . So far I do feel better pain not as bad and Iam mobile again . I see my dr in 3 weeks see what he thinks .

I take amitryptaline at night and get a decent nights sleep which in turn helps me to cope with whatever hits me during the day. I also thought I was getting dementia before diagnosis.
