Is anyone b-12 deficient, my doc will only give me the injection every 2 months I feel like I need it every week but my doc refused to give me it more often, I’ve asked to be referred to a specialist but she refused, I’ve read a study that claims b-12 benefits people who aren’t even b-12 deficient , if it helps them then it must help me even more

Hello, I am also b12 deficient, do you know your levels and have you been retested since starting the injections? I’ve been pushing the doctors surgery for the injections for a while now but they made me try the tablets first (which did nothing). My level is 108 and I’ve finally been booked for my first injection on Thursday. Did you have a loading dose of 6 injections over two weeks before your repeat injections? Just wondering if that could be why you haven’t seen any benefit, although I have seen many people on here saying they haven’t found much benefit and self inject or go elsewhere for their injections. I’m not sure if it’s linked to Fibro or just a coincidence
Yep I don’t think doctors really believe in it , my gp told me vitamins don’t work and she didn’t believe the jag was any good but I then got taken to hospital and it was really bad , got b12 for 7 days wen I was in , now I’ll only get it 2 months, I would talk to your gp, I don’t no if u seen my other post about it
Yes I am deficient also and hadn’t any idea. I now take b-12, bit d3, Gabapentin (1200 mg) and duloxicam(60 mg). Sorry for spelling error. And still in pain all the time and tired so tired.
It should be based on your blood levels, post loading phase, 2-3 months is about the right duration for the injection to last.
Mega loading with any vitamin needs to be done under your GPs guidance, as their are many unwanted side effects.
As for b12 helping FM, I personally am not sold on it. My blood work shows I have very high b12 levels and my FM is currently not behaving.
If it works for you though, I’m all for it, but I would not say every FM patient should get, or will benefit from b12.
If you really want more, tell your GP you are prepared to pay for the extra doses, if they think it’s safe then I would go ahead and pay for an extra dose every other month. I can’t login to the NHS cost database at the moment, but I think from memory it is not that expensive.
