Hi I’ve just joined but had fibro for 15 years. Am having to now give up my career as a nurse because I have carpal tunnel in both hands and hammer thumb, plus tennis elbow, so can’t lift any more. Has anyone else had this in relation to fibromyalgia or is this just bad luck?

I suffered with carpal tunnel years ago in my first job in a wages office for 17 and a half years. so painful and struggled to sleep, waking up in the mornings with pins and needles plus pain. left office work and not had any trouble. I was advised at the time when I saw g.p. not to have the operation and I didn't. just wore a support. x
I've had carpal tunnel in both hands and have had surgery on both (which was a huge success). I think it's more bad luck than connected to fibro, and it could also be connected to your job x
Welcome, I also have carpal tunnel on my right side, but they didn’t find it in my left even though I have the same symptoms, go figure 😔. Sending gentle hugs 🤗
Yes had it prior to Fibro and had surgery on both hands successfully. I was a secretary at the time and the doctor seemed to think it was probably related to rsi and all that typing.
A friend of mine aged 82 has played the harp. From a very early age, last year she had both hands operated on for carpel tunnel and now there is no holding her back, her secret, smile and do what you love doing. Get a good doctor and get the operation done.
Hello I'm not sure if there is a connection but I too suffer from carpal tunnel in both my hands
