Hello there duc well come to this site people on here r very nice and helpful duc can't you go c another doctor besides the one your seeing she does not seem very helpful at all try to find someone who listens to you and understands wat your going thro duc you hvnt said wat u went for and how much pain your in duc take care glor xx
This sounds so familar I’ve had to wait 3weeks before I could see my gp who is very in tune with fibro , couldn’t get past receptionest each time I called so I put a sealed note addressed to him and said put it in his tray that way he got to read it and they got in touch . Calling the nhs is also a good idea to get advice they might give you info and steer you in the right direction good luck hope you get seen soon xx
Finally got helpful GP today im in agony my whole right side swollen. Im struggling to fo day to day stuff . Been given Meloxicam to take .
Seems like a usual problem a lot of gp,s don't have a grip on fibro my old Gp insisted it doesn't exist was a made up condition my new gp is much better referred me to rheumatologist who diagnosed me few week ago good luck
I went to see one at my surgery, as soon as I said I had Fibromialgia, he said, "let me interrupt you, there are amany male doctors who don't believe that exists and I am one of them, make an appointment to see somebody else, goodbuy." I had had to wait almost 2 weeks for that appointment and it was another 3 before I could make an appointment with another one. they only had on the day appointments and the gustapo (who are not medically trained) said that what I had was an ongoing problem and I could not have an on the day appointment. doesn't say a great deal for your life in their hands does it.
That’s terrible really is just because you cannot see pain etc doesn’t mean it’s not real , that was rude also , have you another surgery nearby? Too be fair if I had not caught up with my doc on weds I would have moved further to another one , my doc is brilliant I took my friend she was very impressed and with his attitude When I do see him every few months I have to get a piece of paper from him he signs , as receptionest will not give you the appointmentxxxxx
Get used to it sweetie. Dr's seldom like Fibros. Do your own research, be your own DR. You will piddle em of anyway so best to be well informed to negate some of the damage they will do.
Welcome to the FMAUK Community Ashbash73 !
Unfortunately, as others have mentioned you can come across some Healthcare Professionals that are unhelpful and dismissive of Fibromyalgia. I would consider seeing another GP or as a last resort finding a local GP known for kindness and understanding then move surgeries. We shouldn't have to as with all the information available we should get the support we need but some still seem to have their own judgements which I am sure is not allowed as per GMC rules. It seems you do need to be an expert patient and politely assertive with people sometimes.
You can also consider completing this form and FMAUK will send a medical pack containing a wealth of information to your surgery, link below;

I've noticed you haven't locked your post to this community only, if you do so it will generate more replies from members. If you wish to lock it, please see the information below which will help explain;

Hope this helps

Fibromyalgia has been linked to the Epstein Barr Syndrome which is a virus ( I picked it up in Brazil while volunteering in an orphanage,) There were 3 of us that contracted the virus and all of us have fibromyalgia, so treat the virus (there are books on chronic fatigue syndrome) and you can teach yourself tricks to feel better& not just survive
