Where do you go on holiday when you live in Tenerife?

Australia of course!

First time in almost 7 years.

On third repack as weather updates get better. No warm clothes here so started with what i could find in my wardrobe. Now weather in Australiais improving daily as they go into summer so ut come the shorts.. Never really been away!

Fly from here to Gatwick...the worse airport for any disabled traveller. Overnight stay then Emirates Business Class on Wednesday. Yup robbed my piggy bank and going in style.

David reasonably stable although sad he can't make the long journey with me. Haus Frau and close friend to keep both eyes on him and help where needed..He will be fine.

So.....off I go back again to that vast beautiful country with its warm wonderful people

See you all in few weeks

Best wishes for a safe journey and wonderful holiday, thanks for tip about Gatwick. May be off to see my son over there in 2018 some time. Look forward to hearing how your holiday went when you get back.

go for it Katie..it is a wonderful country. Big!! Where does he live?

Gatwick abandoned me when I came back from Kefalonia with Curlygirl54. And I had a connection to make home. It may be the airlines responsibility ( by Law) to ensure you are booked assistance when requested but then it falls to pieces. Contracted out is where the nightmare starts. They pay peanuts...give zero hours contract so no bods to escort disabled people.. It was a scary time even for me.

But the system does work and excellent when it does.

Hi Pat, my son is based in Melbourne Puckapunyal. But his wife lives in their home in Brisbane. My son is in the Australian army following 22 years in the british army, so is not always home :) :) . It has been suggested I go for assisted travel as my walking is not as good as it used to be and stairs are a nightmare. Anyway I would not be going till next September if I do go.

What a wonderful opportunity for him. Had an Army friend who married a girl from Adelaide and transferred over there.

I'm flying in to Melbourne so will wave!

Your time next year.

And yes go for the assisted travel. You get to ride in one fo those buggies..huge fun!

Glad you managed to afford business class Pat. With SI joint problems the extra room and comfort is essential. Which is why I will never acieve my ambition to go to the States. Couldn't manage the flight.

I hope you have an excellent time. David will be fine as long as he doesn't plan on any gardening !

If you can't fly Dee then you go on a boat!! Big boat. Can't doesn't exist you know that.

Not only comfort in Business Class but food...masses of it. I don't drink so have to do something!!

Ah I have to objections to the boat. One I need my husband with me. And too I get sick on even the largest boat . Very very sick. For days after.

I got to Orkney and I plan to go by train and car to Brittany not this spring coming but next. Before I'm 70 anyway

Brittany by Euro star will be great fun. Watch out Brexit doesn't stop it running though!!
