Working and DLA/pip

Hi guys, can anybody please tell me if I can make a claim for DLA /pip whilst I am still working . I've only been working 2x 12 hour shifts a week as I used to do 3 but I am really struggling now . My husband seems to think I won't get DLA/pip because i work , I am frightened that if I give my job up i won't have any money at all. When I am off work the 5 days a week are spent recovering from the 2 shifts I've worked . I wish I could just look after myself and rest when I am tired which is everyday .

Even though I am on my feet for the full 12 shifts. My husband is a disabled war pensioner and he didn't qualify

Hello Billysmini

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with your work.

I have given you a link below that our Ken TheAuthor has written

I know that DLA no longer exists and that you would need to apply for PIP.

I also believe that there is an anonymous questionnaire that you can answer to see the likelihood of being awarded PIP. Click on the blue line below and you will find a list of helpful contacts:

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

You may get more answers if you lock your post, but that of course is your own decision.

Wishing you a peaceful day

Lu xx

Hi

PIP is payable if working or not but is increasingly difficult to get but you have nothing to lose

I would say start gathering evidence so you have it to save time if you decide to apply

Hi my friend

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I can see that BlueMermaid3 has given you a link to some helpful contact over PIP, and so I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your claim and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I work part time and I still receive pip. because of my illness I am unable to work full time so I do 3 x 7hr nights. I started on 4 shifts but am now struggling with the 3

..but I am gonna keep going as long as I can for my own sanity. I enjoy working and it makes me feel like a useful member of society.

Hi, yes you can, i was awarded PIP last summer and i'm still working full time (with a lot of time off sick) so the PIP award really comes in handy for when i'm down to 1/2 pay or ssp.
