DLA - PIP

I've been waiting for the big brown envelope, arrived this morning. Last assessment for DLA April 2010. I was expecting to apply for PIP but they've sent more forms to re-apply for DLA! I don't get it. I live in Dorset. 'Confused Tulip' xx

You're right it does not make sense but who said it had to: it's coming from a government body. Rolling the scheme out piecemeal and obviously renewals in your area are not covered yet.

PIP hasn't been wheeled out in every area so some people with still be asked to apply for DLA when their award ends, even in the areas where it has been wheeled out some strange rules apply. I have just looked it up on the Benefit and Works site by putting in "what areas has PIP come into" and there is a page of explanation there which is a bit long to copy and paste to the forum site so give it a read if you are still unsure. You can always double check by ringing them up but if it was me I would just fill in the forms and send it back as certainly in my case after reading the prescriptors I am much more likely to be awarded DLA than I am PIP.

Good luck with it let us know how you eventually get on.x

Hi,

Some areas are still on DLA (estimated till about 2015). For renewals you should have been sent your form pack around 20 weeks before present dla expiry date.

I just assumed it would be PIP, due for re-assessment April 2015. My daughter will be up in a bit. We'll see what advice is available websites, make a start this afternoon. I have a Care Plan from GP which I think will be a great help. Details test results, diagnoses, meds etc. We'll see! Tulip x

Hi tulips123

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? As some of the others have already said, PIP is not universally live at the moment, so the next time that you need to apply it will probably be up and running nationally by then?

I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck with your claim and fingers crossed for you!

All my hopes and dreams for you
