Can not get a doctors appointment

My hip and back went on the 30 of May. I was so bad I was having consent spasms. I fell on the floor there five hours rang 111 they sent an ambulance. They were giving me all sorts of pain relief then took me to A&E as they didn't like how I was reacating.

Don't get my started about what happened in A&E. Any way was bed bound for two weeks, my doctor did give me a phone call and gave me painkillers but no muscle relaxers which I really needed to stop the spasms.

Any way I am self employed so need sick note pluse have no painkillers left. I did have an apoitment on the 20th but they cancelled it. I keep ringing for emergency apoitments they say all the doctors are off.

I needed a sick note from the 8th but dose not look like I will get on plus in a lot of pain

What to do when you can't get appointments and you have been trying all month?

Hi pepsirat I'm sorry you are having such a dreadful time with trying to get appointment with your doctors, most surgeries seem to be the same these days. I would suggest you call your gp in the morning and ask for a telephone appointment because you have just come out of hospital and you desperately need a sick note for your work. I would thing it would get done for you and you would just need to go and collect it. Your gp has probably got a letter from the hospital saying you have been discharged because I think they have to, so your gp will be aware of it, so shouldn't think they would need to see you & your gp will then decide when they need to see you & this will help to make a proper appointment.

I'm sorry you fell and were left all that time, bless you, that must of been absolutely terrible for you & quite frightening I'd imagine. I hope you get back to being well very soon my friend and best of luck with doctors.

Luv Jan xx

Hello, what an appalling way to treat patients!

I suggest you ring your surgery morning and afternoon and ask them to log each time that you have not been given an appointment. Explain that you are doing this in order to write to PALS and complain.

You may be given a phone appointment which is better than nothing, but I would insist on getting painkillers and a sick note. If he refuses than again demand a proper appointment and say again you will complain to PALS

Do not worry about causing a bad feeling or be anxious the GP will not treat you properly, they are doing that already. When you are over this, consider changing your GP surgery altogether, you deserve better than this.

Take care

Xx

I was wondering if it may help if you asked to speak with your surgery manager. They seem to be the ones to go to in times of difficulties with your GP. Thankfully it as always been a positive outcome for me when I have had any kind of GP problems. I hope you get some where soon the whole thing sounds appalling to say the least good luck xx

Should not be this hard to get help. They should make these big companies pay the right tax and put it into the NHS.

Hello,,,,contact the practise manager,,and make a complaint,,,send it special delivery,,this then means they have to act and give you an answer,,usually within 7 working days,,while that is happening and if nothing happens, copy the letter and write a strong letter to the CCG,,and making you situation very clear,,,,the first letter should bring some results,,but if not then the ccg can force them to correct the situation,,and if all else fails and you're not happy the ccg can find you another doctor,,who will then take up your medical care,,,hope you get the care you need very soon,,ttfn from karen.
