Home performance visit

Hi everyone I am 61 and had FM Since 92.

I am on pip and ESA but receive no other benefits. Other than intrim maintenance from my soon to be ex.

I had to sell my car to get something smaller and that's the only savings I have which are slowly disappearing.

The DWP are coming to do a home visit soon. So why do they need to check my financial situation. I have nothing to hide but very anxious non the less. I don't get any other relief or benifits ?!

Hello and welcome, I think its to do with checking your savings ie you get money taken off your benefits if you have so much over I think its 6k and will receive nothing at all if you have over 16k, hey will also probably need bank statements etc to check your incomings...I think.

Hi thanks for replying so quickly.

Well I don't have that amount currently and not sure what will happen once my divorce is final and a settlement has been made.

We were fortunate enough to have a rental property which I was able to move into. Now the main house has sold and mortgage and fee's paid I will have to pay him for his half in this house. No idea what might be left as in judge's hands. So I am worried only just manage now. Is it both the ESA and PIP they can reduce

They will also be checking the property situation...my feelings are that they will look for anything in order to take money off you, try not to worry if you have nothing then they will have to cough up, as long as you meet the criteria, although if the judge awards you anything you may lose out on payments, probably best to speak to the CAB for proper advice, good luck.x, I also believe theres a benefits advisor linked to this site, one of the admin should be able to advise.

Hi

PIP is not means tested if you are on ESA and if you get the higher of PIP you can apply for SDP

Its common Practice to select people randomly to check benefits so don't worry just have bank statements as they will need to see these .

Hi Notahappybunny

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

fmauk.org/

I would try not to worry too much about this as it is all standard procedure. Many benefits have a cut off point if you have savings over a certain amount of money / assets. As you have not you should be okay anyway.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ok I have called the DWP and it seems this is a random PIP review.....she said so long as my circumstances haven't changed then it's just doing the normal form.

But my circumstances have changed since my separation. Now my son and daughter help me as best they can as apposed to ex.

Also she wants to see all my meds, that's also changed since Easter. As I felt so confused and detached I weaned myself off all my medication.

I am now using CBD oil and other CBD products to help with pain. Because I didn't inform them will I be penalised.

I know that sounds like the words of a paranoid woman.....but I am so anxious anyway this makes it worse.

Hi Notahappybunny

I do not think that you are being paranoid at all, as we hear stories about what happens at these assessments etc and they feel quite daunting. While I cannot envisage any issues arising form the fact that your daughter helps like your husband use too, there is not need to give too much details i.e. CBD oil etc. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Good morning

She said she would have to see all my medication and I only have over the counter medication. Some alternative products my ten's unit and the oil. So when you see all the medication I have stopped or tramadol and so on there is a big change.

The only thing that has stayed the same is the pain.
