Hi all, I just wondered how long i should expect to wait for a home visit, I have been told i will have one, but that was way back in September 2017. Every day i look for the post its driving me nuts. I am still being paid my money and still in the support group but its the waiting and not knowing. I dont really want to phone them as i have many times before

Thanks all

Ok if I where you I would just wait as long as you are getting your money don't rock the boat .Also you say you have phoned them so try not to stress about it

The old saying No new is good news

Hi I would leave well alone. Don't ring them again.

They have either forgot about you (which I doubt) or they may have decided that you don't need to have an assessment.. but forgot to tell you.

I've been in the support group for around 4 years and haven't heard a thing from them yet.

I was worried for a while but I decided not to let it bother me until I get a letter from them.

I am more worried about PIP at the minute.. just sent my form in and am dreading having to do a F2F with them. 😥😥😥

I know it is easier said than done but please don't let it get to you. 🌹🌼🌹

mattoid-mags profile image

Ps.. Did the ESA actually send you out another medical questionnaire to fill in and send back to them?

If so did they tell you that you have to be assessed, and if so, did you ask for a home visit?

jb007 profile image
jb007

Yes i sent a letter from the GP they have wrote back saying just wait easy said

jb007

oh i got my PIP a few Months before that was a nightmare as well but i got it both high rate whatever they call it lol

mattoid-mags in reply tojb007

That's great that you got PIP which should mean that you should remain in the support group of ESA. 👍👍

Unfortunately being awared PIP does not mean you necessary will stay in Support Group of ESA .Many are able to work and use their PIP for help thay need to get to work and more are being put into Work related ESA .

So unfortunately entitlement to PIP does not guarantee Support Group

No i know that , that wasnt my question, They are two differant awards for two differant things

Hi Rose54, I know what you mean and that's very true.

What I meant.. taking jb007 for example.

Jb007 was awarded PIP enhanced care and enhanced mobility.

Now, we all know your head basically has to be hanging off to be awarded any enhanced component of PIP, therefore, anyone who is classed as severely disabled by the Government's criteria is in no way fit for work.

If ESA were to find jb007 fit for work, well it wouldn't surprise me but it would validate just how crazy and useless the Government/DWP really are. Their system is unfit for purpose.

Hi mattoid-mags

I do agree and completely understand hopefully things will change but I doubt it.

September was 9 months ago.. that's a long time.

Not sure what's going on but I definitely wouldn't be ringing them again.

Ah, I'm still waiting for my home assessment, been waiting since December 2017, I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are being paid :) Maybe it's because of people being switch to UC, I don't know, I'd rather just be left alone tbh.

Yes I was kept waiting since september 2017 . Still it's done now so just have to wait for the DWP reply letter. Was in the support group I hope they don't try to change things . Just wish they would leave me alone .
