😖 after so long on no medication (trying to be brave) I have to go on the dreaded gabapentin upped to 6 a day by the consultant after a hospital visit ...had to have a medical before a MRI scan due to problems within me and the day after my visit my pain is intense so back to the pills I go ...just have to watch what I eat ...and the swelling of my ankles ...grrrr

Oh I'm sorry. Maybe you won't have to stay on it and you'll be able to get yourself off after a while. I hope you get some relief.

Thankyou ..I will try and stay on it but hate poisoning my body ..but I need something ATM due to this awful pain .

Hi, sorry you are in so much pain today. My consultant put me on gabapentin at same dose, I worked my way up to six like he said but then lessened it down to threes day on my own as that felt enough for me. I have stayed at this level for about a year and am very happy with it. It certainly has helped with fibro pain even though I was given it for migraines originally !!

I had a rta in Oct 2016 sandwiched between 2 cars but not too serious as not going fast enough ...had lower back pain and right leg /hip pain since ...hence the MRI but nothing conclusive ..even though the consultant said if after seeing the rheumatologist and the physio I have no joy then surgery will be needed I don't understand this as if I need surgery why don't they do it so I don't have to endure anymore pain like I had yesterday after seeing them at the hospital it don't make sense ....
