Lump top of spine

does anyone have any ideas on this. I'm in so much pain. Necked locked on Thursday and been in agony since then with pain between shoulder blades and shoulder and neck. Yesterday i stood straight and noticed this lump. What can it be. Nothing helps. Been given naproxen. Codeine. Had massage. Hot and cold pads etc. Please help

Hello I have a similar lump and I have been told by my doctor it is kyphosis. It can be caused by poor posture or degenerative arthritis.

If it is worrying you, then I suggest you see your doctor to make sure.

Yes as bluebell99 says it does lookrather look like kyphosis which can be caused by many things. Sometimes as well if we are in alot of spinal and neck pain our muscles tense up so badly they seem to go into a large knot which can cause our spine to look as though it has a lump. It sounds as though you are worried and also in alot of pain so I think it would be best to have a word with your GP to see exactly what it is and what can be done to help you with the pain and also give you reassurance. Do let us know how you get on.x
