Groin and top of leg pain

Hi everyone,

I wonder if you can help me with something. For about a week now I've been getting pain in my lower groin area (to be precise sort of where the ovaries are) sorry to be a bit personal. It started on the left side and then almost symmetrically on the right. It's so sore and have been in pain with it every day but more towards the evening time. At first I thought it may of been my appendix, but me and my husband checked and it doesn't look like that.

A bit of historical info to go with this. Last year I had the lining of my womb reduced because I was having a lot of personal problems. That procedure has helped that problem but I was wondering if it could be period pain but it is also affecting the top of my left leg also. I am seeing the nurse tomorrow to have my ears syringed and my B12 injection and am going to see my GP about it as I'm not sure it's fibro related, but then whenever something new comes along I think to myself "Oh this could be fibro related" but I don't want to fall in to that trap.

Also a friend of mine who I was talking to also mentioned that she herself gets some pain on the left side (again a bit personal) but when she needs to go to the toilet. Now after hearing this I wondered that myself and I can say that a couple of times this week it has been that. But I'm still getting the pain when I don't need the toilet. I can't win. Maybe its the cold weather coming in. I simply don't know. Any comments, suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Babebatista (Kim)

Throughout the years I have had so many different pains, some can be so scary. If I were you, I would check your ovaries and anything else they need to check. If the doctor doesn't know about your Fibro, I wouldn't disclose it till after all of the testing. Because through the years I have found that doctors will blame anything they can o Fibro. My prayers are with you.

Hi Josana,

Thank you for your reply. About a year ago I think that I heard my gp talk about PCOS and I have had a growth there in the past. So today while I see the nurse I will make an apt to see my gp. She's wonderful and has supported me fully over the years. Thoughts and prayers to you and also gentle fibro hugs xx

You say you are seeing the nurse is that today while you are at the surgery make an appointment to see the Doctor have a chat. I suffer groin pain and it is related to the Lymphodema . It is always a good idea to see a Doctor.

Remember we are not medical proffesionally just fellow fibromites sharing their experiences so always check new symptoms with your GP.

Hi Ginsing,

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words. Yes I am seeing the nurse at the gp surgery today and I am going to make an apt with my doctor. She is very supportive and is always happy to have a chat with me. I will also mention PCOS, because for some reason I'm pretty sure that I had a growth there over the years. Take care and gentle fibro hugs for you xx

I would suggest asking the doctor about Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS for short, as I had this for many years. Eventually, I had a total hysterectomy at 41years, following three D & C's that didn't work. They found two enormous fibroids, that didn't show up on scans. I hope that I haven't scared you......but it's best to rule things out.

Hi Missymoomoo,

Thank you for your reply. I am going to make an apt to see my gp and ask her about all of this. Somewhere along the line I have heard PCOS mentioned and I'm pretty sure that I had a cyst on one of them a while back. You haven't scared me so don't worry. I scare myself actually always thinking the worst of everything. I agree it is best to rule things out so thank you for your kind worrds. Gentle fibro hugs to you xx

I have this regularly I didn't understand it at first but got advices by my consultant that it is I fact fibromyalgia. Does the pain also travel to hip and down front of leg. I do hope for you that it's not because if like me you have osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis it a very bad pain you can do with out. If you've not already got one a wheat bag will be good and also what I've had recently and can highly recommend an actipatch. Good luck xx

Hi nannydeb, the last couple of nights it has done what you just said. It travelled down the front of the leg and to my hip and then round to my back. I have made my apt for Monday afternoon so should hopefully have some answers soon. Thank you so much for you lovely and kind comments and help.

Hugs xxx
