Spine pain

Socialbutterfly00 profile image

Hi everyone,I hope you are all keeping as well as you can 😊I haven't posted anything here for a while but wondering if any of you can shed any light, following my fibro diagnosis a year ago today,I have suffered with agonising lower spine pain,it is there everyday!!creeps into my right hip,I've had an mri, last August and it didn't show a thing 🥺it never goes or get less painful,no pain killers help and it is having a huge impact on walking/keeping fit.

Thankyou ❤️

I get that lower spin near top of my bum down my hips both sides but the left is my worse. I recently got a steroid injection which helped for a few weeks and I'm on a daily steroid and have been started on metatroxane. I have also lost 4 stone which is helping take pressure off and I feel a huge difference it's not a cure but I have more freedom of movement and can manage the pain better. Its not easy lose it though I tried everything before taking drastic action and getting a sleeve. I have started in the gym and swimming only 2 weeks at it so early days yet but baby steps. I am back with rheumatologist next week and see from there what they say. I had a dexa scan also but results aren't in for a few weeks yet. I have had no flare up this winter for the first time in years I am thrilled but I know that it could just be a day away and could happen anytime I am minding myself and when I feel pain getting bad I rest up for a day or two until it passes and I am not over doing things. I hope this helps you from me sharing and you find your relief x

Hi Elizahl, can I ask you please, what is a sleeve for weight loss.

Gastric sleeve where they cut your stomach to reduce its size but its not for everyone and I would not advise it as such do your research first as it is non reversible and you would need to make sure it is what you want but I am very happy with how it has gone for me.

Hi,I don't think so,doctors said at one point maybe coccydinia and piriformis,I've had physio and allsorts of meds but nothing is working,so they are as stumped as me especially with the clear mri. It's so depressing,I can't stand for too long or sit for too,I try stretches and allsorts of things but nothing at all is working,my legs are so weak..X

OK going to suggest something else! My late husband had similar to you and after undergoing extensive every test known ....the specialist at painclinic sort of thought it could be his hip his hip disintegrated. But nothing showed. So....they opened up his hip and bingo it was a mess but all hidden on far side of joint. They were extremely shocked and now understood his pain for so many years plus he was relatively young to have replacement. . but best thing he had done.

Sorry to read this as you have had tests done and seen the doc with no real answers, are you now thinking about asking for an inspection. Inside as the scan has not showed anything up ? I see another members husband was looked at from inside , I really hope you can move forward as it must be very painful walking and if more investigation was done it would be good for you too start getting back too your previous self if they got too the root of the problem , keep us posted sending my best xx

Oh gosh!really?x

So,spoke again with my gp,he will not refer me back to rheumatology,he said they just don't pay any interest once they give a diagnosis(which was of course fibro last year) he has requested another mri, brain and spine. He said let's see what comes of the mri,if that still shows nothing I should learn to just get on with it 🥺

In a similar situation with lower back and hip pain. Mainly right hip that hurts but tingling down the left when i stand.

Currently under physio and things were going ok doing stretches and keeping mobile. Then Friday i got took off my feet with pain having to use a stick and literally only walking around the house.

Diazepam has helped a little but still house bound and putting off ringing dr again as I'm dreading having to sit in the car to go there. Pain at it's worse is a solid 9/10 and i swear a lot especially with the pain attacks. It's embarrassing .

I am either lying on the floor in my bed or hot bath. Burnt my back and it's a right mess but ill take that over the current situation. I no my weight don't help but chronic pain and weight gain are a vicious circle.

Hope you gets some answers.

Oh bless you, isn't it just awful, and yes I swear alot too lol. I feel its just a case of "just get on with it" so it seems 🙃I do push myself as much as possible, but that dosnt always go to plan, and yes I'm addicted to heat on the spine area,it's such a comfort especially when no medication helps,I can walk but not to far in case I get stuck and can't get back 🙈I'm forever trying to laugh it all off,but somedays beat me. I look after my diet,no snacking on rubbish, lots of fruit and veg etc, especially to help me sleep better. I send well wishes and positivity to you ✨️
