Is a lump on the collarbone with shoulder pain common with fibro?

I noticed a small painful lump on my collarbone a few weeks ago it's now got bigger and is causing pain along the shoulder. I feel more fatigued my bones feel more weak than usual. I can't lie on my left side at night because of it. Find it painful to use my hair dryer or curlers, so natural has been the look lol .. and with the lump in my throat they think I have tonsillitis too. On the up side I start college on monday :) woo! Hope everyone is having good days x

Hi msBrightside

I am so sorry to read that you have this lump on your collarbone and shoulder pain, and I genuinely hope that you can find some answers to this? As far as I am aware no kind of inflammation is common with Fibro, as Fibro is not an inflammatory illness. I would definitely get this checked out by your GP just to rule anything else out.

I can imagine that you are getting quite excited about college? I want to wish you all the best of luck for Monday and I sincerely hope that you really enjoy yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken x

Managed to get a doctors appointment today.

Thanks, I didn't think it was related to fibro. Thought I better ask before I made a fuss about it.

Thanks for your kind support :) as always Ken ...need all the luck I can get lol x

Hi I have 27 cysts in my body. I have had 11removed. The biggest was on my back just below my shoulders which meant I couldn't sleep on my back. All have been cysts, but you do need to get it checked out. Good luck with college.

Hi, oh that could be a possibility, glad I'm getting seen today it's grew in 2 weeks so felt a bit concerned. Especially with it limiting movement. Thank you :) I'm looking forward to it.

I've got something similar. It's a muscle that's too tight because of ligaments in my neck bad posture. Doing Physio. It's no fun but at least it's not a lump...lump if you know what I mean. Hope yours isn't a lump ....lump. Take care. X

Aw that does sound similar. It could just be posture ... The doctors was a waste of time! Said there was no lump on my sholder when there clearly Is. My throat is normal apparently when the lump takes up half my mouth. Ah well lest I tried

Please don't leave it get it checked by another doctor, failing that go to A&E these lumps need to be checked out, my friend had a similar lump on her hip and 4 doctors told her there was nothing wrong with her, she ended up going to A&E and it turned out to be a abscess, I don't want to scare you but I also could not read your post and not say anything, she's must better now after antibiotics

Good luck with college best wishes ann x

I might get up there tonight if the pain hasn't gone feels like bricks weighing down my shoulders. You're right should get it checked. Cannot wait 3Months until my next rhumie appointment.

Aw don't worry I don't scare easy :) lol ... I do think its possible it's something that needs medical attention and they are just ignoring it. It's the same woman that wouldn't refer me for my annual Neurology appointment.

I'm trying not to let it get to me. Really hate days like this when other people make you feel like you're kidding yourself on. Nap time for me :) sorry for the rant!

Thanks I'm excited about college. .. found out today I will actually lose my ESA so it's a risk, but I think it's worth it for the possibility I could do it x

I agree, take yourself to A&E or get another doctor to have a look, it may not be anything serious, but if I were in your shoes I would want a second opinion for certain.

Healing vibes coming your way :-)

I do feel it needs to be checked, I'm really disappointed with my local services. I will get a second opinion at the hospital they can xray so will be better.

Thanks :) just need a nap and I'll be sorted running on 2 hrs sleep. x

I am looking for the same thing. I have a small, painful lump on my clavicle and it is radiating into my shoulder.

Did you ever find out what your painful lump was ? I have one now and doctor told me they can't find one and put me on nerve meds and muscle relaxers and neither one is working..

Nope the GP was not helpful. She said it was slightly protruding but nothing to be concerned about it eased off on its own.

If I were you I would tell your doctor to send you for an ultrasound because this happened to me my doctor said it was nothing to worry about and now 7 months later I have 3 tumors on my thyroid that started with a symbol lump on my collarbone

Looks like no one has talked about lumps in several years. I was recently diagnosed with Fibro and have a lump next to clavicle. Had US and MRI and everything came back negative. Every doctor can visually see the lump but when palpated there’s no nodal feel. Was told if it’s still there in a few months can do repeat scans. Just wasn’t sure if it’s something serious or just another random fibro finding.
