Menopause Can anyone advize plz...
Hi
I use Agnus Castus which is a herbal remedy for PMS but works well on my hot flushes / sweating. It can be purchased in Holland & Barrat but is also available online xx
Hi Hidden I'm sorry you are suffering at the moment. I'm afraid this is one of the worst symptoms of the menopause. I was only talking about it the other day with another member. It is an unbelievable flush of heat that feels like it makes you go bright red & sweat profusely. Bed times are worse, covers on, covers off all night. I think because fibromyalgia seems to make you sensitive to everything, including heat or cold, the menopause hot flushes seems worse.
I would mention it to the doctor though because it can make you quite dehydrated and if you are only type of medication for water retention.
I do feel for you and remember it well, I used to have one of those little pocket fans & sometimes I used to put the hair dryer on cold & just blast it on my face lol, another good one, is put your hands into cold water.
Peace, luv n light
Jan xx
Hi
Hidden a lot of ladies here are suffering with sweating, me included, and it can be the menopause. Fibro can also be a cause as we seem to have "faulty" thermostats.
A friend swears by soya milk and another by evening primrose oil.
This is obviously bothering you and it does seem as though you are experiencing more sweats that could be explained away by menopause alone. I suggest you see your GP who may want to run some blood tests to check your thyroid.
Hope you get some relief soon as I know how miserable it can be.
Xx
Hi HUn if you go over to Endometriosis forum on here you will find loads of ladies able to advise you, go to "communities next to your user name top of page it drops down and you should be able to link to end forum.. good luck
This may be a daft question but what is a surgical menopause. Ive only had the normal one.

When you have had your ovaries removed surgically unfortunately, your body immediately stops producing estrogen and progesterone. Unlike women who go through menopause naturally, women wake after the operation to have immediate estrogen withdrawal. It's that sudden. Been through it and worn the T shirt horrible. Normally when a woman goes through natural menapause it is a more gradual process so in most cases rather kinder.x
I had a hysterctomy which brort on menopause 😐 ..sorry for late reply xx
Hi there, I'm suffering as well at the moment, I find the hot flushes increase my fibro symptoms which naffs me off somewhat. My GP recommend red clover capsules ( Holland and Barrett) and they do help. Always wise to check with your GP or pharmacist before you try any herbal remedies to make sure they don't interact with any of your prescribed medication. Hope you get some relief. Take care x
