Just to introduce myself

Good morning. I'm new to all of this ie writing a post and writing about myself. I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I'm 48 years old and feel like an unhealthy 88 year old on most days hehe. At present I'm on anatriptline, zomorph, neproxin, losec, pregabaline, cyclizine to name a few and I'm still in pain 95% of the time I have my first pain clinic appointment next week and with fingers crossed hoping they will sort this amount of medication out as I feel like a pill popper. Is this amount of medication normal?. Anyway just to say hi to everyone and hope you all have a pain free day. Xxx

Hello and Welcome.....You certainly seem to be on quite a cocktail of meds as many of us are, but it sounds as though you need to sort them out as you seem anxious about taking them all...I don't blame you at all. My GP put me on Gabapentin which did nothing for me even at a pretty high dose so I came off them (with his okay). Hope you get things sorted out and come back for another chat.....plus there is loads to learn on this site and we are all a happy crowd (mainly) and support each other through bad times..and try to help with stuff we have learned over the years...x

Thanks for the reassurance to be honest I'm just a bit fed up with taking so much, I was on the transdermal patches as well but my body developed a sensitivity to them. Just hoping pain clinic will get meds sorted soon xxx

Hello Fishhead68

Welcome to the forum :)

If you take a look at our mother site I am sure you will find it very interesting fmauk.org

I have lived with Fibromyalgia, ME, depression and anxiety for 36 years.

I am actually taking more medication than you are and am still in pain 24/7!

Fibromyalgia comes in all shapes and sizes and varying degrees. Some people are able to manage to live a fairly normal life all the way through to people like me who struggle to get through every day.

Good luck with your appointment at the Pain Clinic. They all seem to work quite differently so I hope they are able to find something suitable to help you.

Once again a warm welcome and I hope you enjoy being part of our online family :)

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Lu x

Hello Fishhead68 a very warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and information along with a chckle or two to lighten the day.

It is difficult to say whether you are on a lot of medication ans the dosage and types are not universal to everyone with fibro. We are all different, take different meds for different needs and some take only basic over the counter painkillers.

I suggest you discuss this at your Pain Clinic where they may be able to recommend an alternative medication or therapy.

Hi Fishhead68

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I also take more medication than this, but I think what is more important than the amount that we take is what effect they have on us, including side effects. I would always talk to my doctor if the drugs were not working or I was suffering with side effects.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
