It hurts when I use keyboard, move it, try to take tops off the milk, bend it anyway, in fact any usual everyday activities. It is on the top and also area between thumb and finger but hard to pinpoint exactly where pain is. I can't move it backwards and forwards without pain

Painful Wrist
Hi FoggyMoggy , I have pain in my left wrist on the bone between the wrist and hand.It comes and goes but when it hurts... it hurts bad.Ive noticed cold weather can cause it to hurt.I forgot to ask Dr but plan to at next appt.Good luck with yours . Peck.🐤
Thanks Peck. Sorry about yours too. I have just taken some nurofen for mine. I took some turmeric and devil's claw earlier but those require a bit more time to work. Take care x
If it is a new symptom it is best to get it looked at by your GP. It could be arthritis or even repetitive strain, or in my case I am just getting older!

Hi my friend
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and as bluebell99 says, ''It could be arthritis or even repetitive strain.'' I would talk to your doctor about this is it does not settle down for you just to have other medical conditions ruled out of the equation.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Thanks Ken. As I said above I've not got time or energy to go to doctor until after Xmas now as we're going away. It was an all i could do to go last week with my usual list of woes! But it's no worse today...so will try and look after it and see where we are in the new year x
I frequently get pain/tingling/neuropathy in my hands and wrists and it's usually when I've been using a computer mouse, gripping the telephone or steering wheel etc. My theory is that because my muscles are weak and they go into spasm easily so that's probably the cause for me. Does it subside or go away when you stop using a keyboard or any other activity that brings it on. You could also try squeezing a soft rubber ball regularly to gently exercise the muscles and build up strength in the hand. I also use a rubber glove to help grip when taking off bottle tops and lids off glass jars.
I had a similar pain and put it down to using a computer all day at work. I was referred to a rheumatologist and that is how I came to be diagnosed with joint hypermobility. I now wear a thumb support, provided by the occupational therapist and it really helps, I wouldn't be without it.
Hiya FoggyMoggy I can understand. I get pain in my left wrist and have to wear a splint. I'm having a lot of pain from my right thumb at the minute. It keeps moving in and out of the joint. Our joys never end unfortunately xxx
Hey foggymoggy it could RSI (repetitive strain injury) or Carpal Tunnel syndrome suggest you see GP for an X-ray. I had same problems about 15 years ago and had op for Carpal Tunnel syndrome. Good luck and take care 🤗😘🎄🎅🏻
Thanks Toolie. I don't get tingling or numbness which I thought you got with Carpal Tunnel? But could be RSI...I will be having a break from computer at Xmas so hopefully that will help. Take care xx
Hi foggymoggy, I too have the same pain, was told it was down to the fibro and hypermobility. Sometimes it's such a sharp pain too, like this morning when I was trying to get my keys in my pocket, always seem to hurt more in the left hand too.
Jo x
It could also be tendonitis or tenosynovitis. It is not to be forgotten that fibro affect the ligaments and tendons as well as the muscles but never the joints.
In any event you need your GP to have a look.
Thanks Telynores...yes could well be tendonitis as I've had that in other areas before. But I won't be able to get a GP appointment until after Xmas now as we're going away. It was an all I could do to go last week with my usual list of woes! But it's no worse today...so will try and look after it and see where we are in the new year
Oh dear Foggy Moggy, I know your pain, I suffer from this too, thankfully when I strap my wrist up the pain is eased and I can get on with things. The pains usually last about 2 to 3 weeks - but it does ease off with support. Hope this will help you too xxx Doreen xxx
Thanks Doreen. It's not been as bad today, thankfully, although it's been coming and going during the last few days. Hope you have a pain-free Christmas! xxx
