Anyone ever try an egg crate mat??

Hi, I had to throw my egg crate mat on my bed away three days ago. Now I hurt even worse. Upper back, spine, lower back and hips. I am going to ask my Dr if she is able to prescribed one, if not I will pay out of pocket.

I love your egg crate mat description of your mattress....but I know what you mean!! Maybe sleeping somewhat differently from before......different pressure points etc. has made you so poorly. I don't know if you can get them on the NHS but worth a try. I have a memory foam mattress which I wouldn't do without!! Maybe look on line and see how much they cost...Hope you can sort this soon and get some sleep....Hugs xx

Hi teakse I don't know what you mean by the egg crate, but like Trikki, I have a memory foam mattress & it's the best thing ever, really helps that feeling of everything is digging in you giving you pain.

I also have a memory foam mattress and I simply love it! I really helps me with my pain whilst in bed. I am so sorry to read that you had to throw your topper away, and I genuinely hope that you can buy a replacement.

Can anybody tell me if their memory foam mattress smelt when they first had it. I believe this can be caused by toxic fire precaution chemicals used in manufacture. I would love another memory mattress but after a bad experience with terrible smell (I have allergies) I am wary as to purchasing another one.

I got a memory foam topper for my bed and it stank big time when I opened the bag.

I was going to take it back until my son in law told me that it's normal.

He works for carpetright lol.

Hope this helps I left mine to air for a couple of days.

Gentle hugs.

Thanks for your response kzz, the point being the smell is toxic and not good for health, I just wonder if all memory foam is like this or are there exceptions.
