Heated Overblanket

Hello everyone. I have just bought the above. Had enough of waking in pain and being cold. I suspect the two are connected. It is a bind having to get up to refill my hot water bottle. Going downstairs in the early hours when stiff, tired and painful is difficult and I dont want a fall. Along with the blanket, I have bought a little travel kettle, and have set-up a space for a brew in my bedroom. Biscuits and meds as well. The bathroom is a few steps away so now I am all set for a warm and safer winter.

Have no experience of electric overblankets and I will be trying it out tonight. So if you dont hear from me again - I have fried myself!!!

Hope you are all having the best day possible. Helen XX

Hi Helen

Sorry that last sentence really made me laugh 😂

Please don't fry yourself.

I use an electric underblanket, but I like the sound of your heated overblanket.

Let us know how you get on with it.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Lu xx

Sounds like a good plan to me!!! Not getting fried I mean getting all snuggly and warm for the winter...I am seriously considering hibernation very soon, but today the sun is shining so I shall await the winter proper!! xx

Hi Dionne, I love it - was so cosy. It has a range of settings and I am looking forward to a sub-zero night just to try out the hottest one. I wish I had bought one ages ago. Have a pain free week. Helen X

Now you will have to post first thing tomorrow to reassure us you haven't overcooked, I too have all the things you describe to brew tea/coffee at hand, was thinking of a mini fridge but is that a step too far? xx

No I have a fridge in my room because I get so bad I can barely walk...it is a wonderful help when you bed it!

Lou - I survived! In fact, it was lovely - only needed it on the lowest setting. When it gets really cold I should be nice and toasty. A mini fridge - ooooh - thats a good idea. I have room for one. Treat yourself if you need it, why not? Helen X

hi slomotion , I bought a heated overpayment couple of weeks ago and think it's a great idea. Very snuggly and warm, helps to relieve the aches and pains a little. Good luck with yours!!😊😴

Strange how people with the F-word are different but the same. I wouldn't have anything heated near me. It sets my skin on fire. I get by with a couple of layers with the aim of not setting off the sweat monster because if I fall asleep like that I wake up freezing as all the heat has been sucked out of me, time for a hot drink.
