Poor you I bet that will be costly. Just followed Oh to pick him up from the garage as his is in for MOT and service. His is a Vauxhall Vectra and everything seems pricey in relation to my little Fiesta. Fingers crossed time. He seemed to be ages at the garage and he had been looking around I know I should have followed him more closely instead of talking to next doors gardener as he has got ideas in his head. Mind you the Vectra is far too big for our needs as he bought it a year before his breakdown when his job entailed him regularly driving quick test long distances. His is about 9 years old to fair but my old girl is nearly 12 and still chugging along. My other one was 13 when she was part exchanged so I haven't done too badly.πŸš—πŸš™πŸš—x

Ohh no, cars are brilliant until they go wrong. Public transport is a joke and most of us can't walk far, I hope it's not a big job. Good luck πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with this my friend, and I sincerely hope that the bill isn't too high! Please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Awe hope it's not too costly.

Hi do you drive in fifth gear most of the time or top gear? as fifth is overdrive an indirect gear so always going through cogs so weaker than others should be going 40mph plus to use fifth or uses more fuel also as engine labours more

My old friend that passed away few years back went 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th almost as quick as that and only doing 25mph gearbox sounded rough.

Similar with auto boxes many just leave in drive where as best is one below drive as drive is overdrive on most unless has od mode as if leave in drive box is always working harder as has to keep changing down or uses kickdown which puts pressure on the seals so fail quicker.

Plus also uses less fuel on my old car round the houses used it in 2 so as come off throttle get some engine braking too as slow down so more safer/control

Hi, 5th gear blew out when I was on the M11heading back to Cambridgeshire doing 70 just overtaken in the middle lane scared the .....out of me it had gone through 2 mot but mum is not well now so I thought I best to get it done as I've not been down to Kent since. No I understand the workings of gears been driving since I was 17 now 59 had many cars and could always do most jobs on them until it got to technical, thanks for your point of view
