You need to contact dvla immediately, car cannot be legally driven or parked on a public road without tax

Unfortunately the DVLA are weeks behind with processing everything. You could tax your car over the Internet as it automatically checks whether you have have valid MOT etc but unfortunately you would then be paying full price. You would then have to stop your cheque and get your paperwork back. It is according to how desperate you are to use your car. I really feel sorry for you as you are being penalised through no fault of your own. Try ringing them first thing tomorrow on their helpline number as because of the bank holiday they will be closed today.x

If you get no joy tomorrow by phoning I would tax the car and claim back any unused portion once you receive the relevant documentation. At least that way you have access to your car and it won't activate any ANPR cameras when you drive.

Members of Parliament are receiving lots of complaints about the DVLA, and getting them resolved. Contact your MP. You can find out who they are and send them a message from this website mysociety.org/wehelpyou/who...

It’s interesting that on this forum posts about thyroid for Fibro are discouraged but posts about road tax are okay, nothing personal but seems odd

posts about thyroid are not discouraged. Posts about thyroid being the cause of or there being no fibro and it is un/under diagnosed thyroid are discussed. Also keep in mind there is also another forum for thyroid on HU that just like Cancer or Osteo people would be pointed to so they get the best help that they can.

And we have photos of birds, crafting and many off topic things discussed on here and as long as it does not get out of hand we try and take a laissez faire approach.

Hope that helps.

Hi You can use the car as long as dvla have your documents and it's verified online , police have access to data base. Because of back log from Dvla they are allowing this at present , bearing in mind we must see this on the data base
