I have read lots of posts over the years about people saying how much hydrotherapy has helped them.
Randomly enough I just answered a post and was saying that hydrotherapy is not available in my area, and how much I wished it was.
I would love to try it myself, but it is not on offer where I live.
If you are being offered it, I would definitely give it a go.
I hope some more people will be along soon who will be able to give you their experiences of it.
Wishing you less pain and more peace

I Loved my few sessions, the pool is very warm and the exercises are gentle. The pool was at my local hospital but was sadly closed for repair more than it was open! It was a shame as it was built with the help of the community raising the funds to pay for it.
It was plagued with faults, tree roots growing and cracking the flooring, leaky pool, you name a fault, it had it, so much so that it was closed for good within five years of it being opened!! Such a waste of everybody's efforts!
Gyms often have jacuzzis ( sorry can't spell it!) and they are just as good as a hydro pool. They may let you use it for a small charge...
the nurse just called me I am booked in for next Tuesday and 3 weeks after that once a week after that I have to pay the hospital or go find another pool that does it as they only offer 4 session so I'm going to give it a go.
That's great, I promise you that you will love it. Our one had those float things that children use, the idea being that you swim with them or do exercises by the side of the pool. There may be a ramp leading into the pool so you don't have to use steps...
Wish I had the chance again, I would love it! Have fun...
Had 6 session s and really felt it was helping me as it is wonderful to exercise in warm water with expert help on hand. The physio said I was making good progress and he wished he could have given me more but that is the limit in our area. It was the only thing that I felt I was making progress with. Unfortunately the local pools are too cold for me. Do have a good you can as there are nice shallow steps down into the pool with a rail so it is easy to get in.z
Hi if you get to go it's really good I was given 6 sessions but I asked them to write down the exercises (they are very gentle) and I laminated them to take to my pool (I go to a disability pool that is available to the public and is like walking into a lovely warm bath! ) that way I could carry them on myself, i have to take them each time as fibro fog means I forget them as soon as I've done them!
Can admin help me lock this post please I'm being dense but can't see how to do it thank you
I was told I could not do hydrotherapy due to having COPD, but I have read that other members have found it beneficial. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes, I started physical therapy in a warm pool about four weeks ago and it's wonderful!!! It has helped a great deal with my range of motion and balance. The warm water increases your circulation which is also beneficial. I highly recommend it to everyone with fibro.
Hello Mahoney I have had hydrotherapy for my fibro, and it really helped. You are 'lucky' it has been offered to you - i had to ' flight' for mine. If you go, make sure the physio knows about your needs and present limitations. It might be a huge effort to go, but I am sure you will benefit from it. I loved it. The water is gorgeously warm, you will never be made to do anything you don't want to do/can't do. They will expect you to put in a bit of effort while you are there - but I bet you will enjoy it. Please say 'yes' to your doc, and ask her if you can attend a.s.a.p. (the waiting lists can be months long!). Good luck. Let me know how you get on. Hug from A10ha.
I would grab it with both hands if you get the chance. I found it the most useful therapy offered by the NHS and would have loved to continue once my six sessions were over if I'd had the option to. Just be aware that you don't realise just how much you're doing so can be surprised by how knackered and achey you feel afterwards so it's best to plan ahead for resting time. Well worth it though for the benefits.
I had a session in the hydro pool this morning, wonderful. Physio gave me 3 free lessons initially, I now pay £5 each session I attend. I started going every week but found the two bus journeys to get to the hospital very tiring so have cut my sessions back to every two weeks. On entering the pool as others have said, it is blissfully warm, a real treat for a fibro body, I do my exercises then spend the last 5 minutes in the adjoining Jacuzzi, not a miracle cure but it really helps all those aches and pains. It is also wonderful to be offered a natural therapy that does not involve ghastly medication. The only side effect to hydrotherapy is the wait before the next time!
