Feeling cold at night, hot afterwards

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a slight abnormalities recently. I started getting chills around 9pm at night and mostly after a meal, my palm will becomes hot and red.

Before bed, I feel some slight slivers and chillings, both my hands and feets are cold. Normally this happens before I sleep. After an hour of sleeping, my palm started to feel hot.

Can anyone advise what is actually going on with me? Does it something has to do with menopause?

Thanks!

Hello there

In my opinion, speaking from experience, I would say that it could be either or both!

Not much of a helpful reply I hear you cry!

It is possible to have a blood test to see if you are menopausal. If you have not had any periods at all for over a year it could well be that.

I'm not medically trained, so perhaps a chat with your GP might be a good idea? That way you may be able to eliminate one of them.

I apologise if anything I have written about you find too personal. If it is I am happy to amend my reply. Just let me know.

Wishing you wellness and peace

Lu xx

Hi there!

Thanks soo much for the reply! I have a full count blood test and glucose test. They turned out to be normal. Could it be menopause?

Do you think I should get hormonal test?

Hi again :)

You don't have to answer this if it is embarrassing for you, but if you have not had a period for over one year it could well be that you have started the menopause.

I think it might be a good idea for you to know whether you have started the menopause or not, but it is entirely up to you whether you ask for the blood test or not xx

Hi there!

Thanks for the answer once more! :) I have regular period just a few days apart late. That does means I can rule out menopause? Thanks!

Hiya

I'm not medically trained, but if you're still having regular periods I would have thought that you could rule out the menopause.

Although as with everything in life, there are always exceptions to the rules! xx

You're so welcome. It is usual to experience hot flushes with the menopause rather than feeling the cold.

The majority of Fibro sufferers cannot maintain their body temperature and are either too hot all the time or too cold. I'm the too cold one. Even if I'm indoors all day, my feet can feel like blocks of ice when I go to bed.

It does sound from what you are saying that it's just another one of the joys of Fibro 😁

That's a relieve! Thanks soo much! It doesn't happens everyday but most of the time when I'm out of the office.

Could I but in here without offending, you may be peri-menopausal which can go on for years while having regular periods.

As Lu said though it does sound quite fibro ie confusing :-(

What are the symptoms are peri menopausal? I used to be obese but I have recently lost weight drastically.

Perimenopause is the time premenopause. Google it, there's a lot of info out there :-)

My palms are constantly hot and red, so I will watch your answers with interest. Not much help though I'm afraid 🐸

Have you changed your hand lotion? I have reactions to certain lotions or dish soap. But I do agree it could be either. Pre or fibro can cause all kinds of things to go wacky. I would check with a doctor though. There might be other things that I don't have a clue about that might be causing it.

Hi there,

I did had a full count blood test and glucose test as well. The results are normal, no abnormalities at all.
