Hello all, I am all new to fibro, My gp has said I am displaying all the signs of fibro and has referred me to the m.e team. I think I have had fibro for some time but just not connected it, I have a rough medical history, but it really kicked off last June when I tripped up the stairs at work (clumsy me ) they thought I had fractured my wrist and put me in plaster for 12 weeks altogether after an mri I never fractured it anyway, but since then omg it has spread all over my body pain is bad, I get stiff and lock up, for the past 3 weeks I have a weird sensation down my left hand side from waist to knee all I can say is it feels like stinging nettles, I get pins and needles in the soles of my feet and just feel bruised all over I get burning hot pain in my back hips and shoulders, joints hurt, the fatigue is hard just doing something small at the moment wears me out,

I am in pain despite meds ( pregablin, buprenorphine patches and amitriptyline. Ohh and hrt) I am also waiting to see pain management team, I was seeing different gp's within the practice but now seeing my own and he has been good.

I I get between 2and half on a bad night and 4 on a good night, so frustrating I want to sleep but the pain isn't letting me I sit on a gym ball to try and relieve some of the pain and have a heat pad which is my best friend,

Jezzz i have just read it all back and sound like a right moaning mine, I guess Right now I a just fed up, any advice would be great

Thank you in advance

H

Hi Butterfly_Wings and welcome to our friendly and informative site😊😊

It certainly sounds like you've been through the mill and I think you have found the very best place to come for information and support and the odd bit of humour thrown in, as we believe tha laughter releases feel good endorphins, which in turn help with the pain.

Could I suggest that you take a peep at our mother site fmauk.org where you will find a vast amount of information which might be useful to you, together with lists of possible support groups in your area.

I very much look forward to getting to know you better around the forum and feel free to jump in and join in on any post at all. Our wonderful administrator TheAuthor (Ken) writes a wonderful ongoing story (or saga) which is hilarious so I can suggest that very easily, and I put up what I hope is an amusing picture each day - Pic of the day which people find quite funny and is a good lift off point for general chatter.

All the very best 😊😊

Hi Butterfly_Wings

I'm sorry to hear you going through all this, feel for you, Iwould agree with Fibrofogiest and reading the link, they can be very helpful, would tend to agree that you have been showing signs of Fibro,,.

I would in the meantime be going back to gp to ask for different pain meds, maybe the ones your on are not strong enough.

your in the right place with lots of people that can help reassure .

Hi, welcome.

It is hard to be in pain, I can relate. Newly diagnosed to Fibromyalgia and awaiting referral to the team to help me.

Just have to take one day at a time is what I can advise. Good days and bad.

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read of how you are suffering and struggling and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues.

It may be a blessing when you get to see the Pain management Team, as you are on a lot of medication that does not appear to be helping you much at all. I am not a doctor but if a medication is not helping then it needs looking at and replacing? It could be that you are experiencing side effects from your drugs that are making you feel worse? So hopefully you won't have to wait too long to see them.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Oh just in case anyone is interested I brought a heat pad from lidl's the other week (£10.00 compared to Argos £29.99 )and ohh its heaven just enables me to relax a bit, I think it's next Thursday they have a back and neck heat pad for £13.99 hope this is of interest to other that find heat helps
