I've been to the hospital for a suspected form of vasculitis but have been told I may have fibromyalgia instead . I do work but I've been off work for five weeks now and wanted to know if I can claim anything for now and when I go back to work as I will be reducing my hours to 24 hours a week. I'm very confused about if you can work and claim. At the moment I'm awaiting results I been like this for 6 years and been fobbed of with different diagnosis but this doctor was very good. Thanks for any advice given

hi hun, I have both. my form of vasculitis is Granuloma with Polyangitis - formerly known as Wegener's Granulomatosis. On "House" they were always mentioning it.
There is an excellent HU Vasculitis UK forum. you can also talk to me.

hamble.
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, Fibromyalgia Action UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the issue. I have also pasted you a link to the GOV.UK cache on how to claim PIP (Personal Interdependence Payment) which has replaced Disability Living Allowance. It is a non-taxable benefit that you can claim whether you work or not. It is payable dependent on how your illness affects your everyday life. So it may be worth applying for this benefit.
The FMA UK Website, (see first link) also has a dedicated benefits helpline which you may find useful.
I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Thank you so much for your help , it has been very distressing as I thought it was all in my head what I was feeling. When I found this site I was quite received and it is nice to know there is someone out there that won't ridicule me and that they understand what and how I feel. So thank you x
