Informing DWP of change of meds

I recently made a claim for PIP first time doing this. I work full time and have been working from home for 5 months I went back to work Tuesday and I now know that this is far too much for me have been struggling on for 4 years although have had FMS for much longer my employer has agreed to reduce my hours I have worked for them a long time thankfully I was on Pregabalin but had to stop it due to reaction 300 mg twice a day they have now put me back on Pregabalin 50mg twice a day now, do I need to tell the DWP that I am now back on this drug and that after going back to work I know now I need to work part time I had the telephone assessment by a HP and they are now deciding on my claim sorry for the long winded question gentle hugs to everyone thank you 😊

I would write to DWP to tell them you have had to reduce your hours. I would not tell them the Pregabalin dose has reduced, as your GP may well be titrating your dose upwards as recommended. 300mg was a huge dose and smaller doses spaced throughout the day are often more suitable for people. Normally you start on a low dose and it is gradually increased. PIP is based on what you can and can’t do, not the diagnosis or the drugs you take. You cannot work as much so that is very relevant.

Thank you releasethemagic that really helps I will contact them Monday I did tell the assessor that I had been taken off Pregabalin 😊💜

By all means phone them and let them know but do follow it up with a written report with a copy of the prescription or a copy of the medication packet. Remember to put all your details on every sheet of paper you send them. That way they can't say you didn't tell them.

Hello, informing the DWP about your change of medication or dosage is not required nor are you reducing your hours of working.

Farmerboy thank you I informed the assessor regarding my meds when I had my telephone assessment but obviously I have now been put back on it and I told her that I had reduced my hours at work so overall I think I should just sit and wait it’s a bit of a minefield when you have never done it before thank you for your advice 😊
