Hi Red

Probably a silly question.but have you mentioned this to your doctor? Can you talk to your work to see if there is anything that they can help you to make it easier for you while your at work?

It is so frustrating when you are in pain all the time it gets you down and depression sets in which in turn makes you feel worse it is such a cycle.

Please speak to friends, family let them know how you are feeling and please tell your doctor.

Most importantly we are here to listen or read:)and we all understand how everyone is feeling.

Really hope you start to feel a little bit better soon.

Hi Red,

Jojo has made good suggestions in talking to your Gp or other health professional. It sounds as if your work does not know about your fibro and how it affects you. Employers need to consider what reasonable adjustments can be made for employees who have disabilities or chronic conditions that affect them in a daily basis under the Equality Act (previously disability discrimination act)

Do you attend pain clinic? If not it may be worthwhile asking your Gp to refer you.

I agree. Aren't employers required to make these adjustments for disabilities? Here in the US, they must do so.

Maybe getting rest periods and a place to lie down in private and stretch out the tight spots for a few minutes would help. Have you tried doing some stretch breaks during work. I imagine there are only so many breaks allowed, but as a person with disabilities, you should be given more - I would think.

The others have given excellent advice and if your work does not know how you are struggling they can't help you. Sometimes we know it is impossible for sufficient adjustments to be made for things to improve enough to make work life easy enough for you and in my case I had to leave a job I adored for there is a future after work if it comes to that. It is amazing how resiliant we can be in the face of crisis.

Do approach your GP and tell them exactly how you are feeling and ask for help you have done the hardest part on coming here and posting. We all know how we can plummet to the depths with the cycle of pain and fatigue and you are doing great holding down a job so be proud of yourself for that alone. Please let us know how you are doing.x

Hello Red9,

Please can I ask as I have just answered a similar question here you can read the reply to this member;

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

I am so sorry you are feeling lost maybe some of the advice from the organisations & contacts given may help you to decide the best way forward to address your employment issues.

As others have said considering talking to you GP about how you are feeling might be a good idea as they may be able to provide you with some support at this time. You might also find using other HealthUnlocked communities might help or finding local support may be of benefit, please see this post;

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

To search the communities you can click 'My Communities' & drop down to the bottom where you can find groups who talk about if you are feeling low or feeling depressed like Action on Depression.

We are always here to listen and try out best to help, but if you feel you need to talk to someone you can ring the Samaritans at anytime 24/7;

I do wish you all the very best and hope you start to feel a bit better soon

Best Wishes

Hi Red9,

There is a solution for that, but of course you have to work to get out of that pain you been having in your life.

A strong suggestion: Please focus more on your diet..eat more light stuff, like leafy greens, fruits and drink at least 3 litres of water a day...

This basic stuff that you can do and will help you..hey..its worth a try..and no side effects! :)

Also seek help with people that were in the same situation as you and got better...and ask for help..not people that are in the same situation (not offending anyone here guys)..you might be looking for the solution in the wrong place.

All the best. :)

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are feeling lost, and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

I was wondering if you have applied / in receipt of PIP Personal Independence Payment which is a tax free benefit for disabled people who qualify after an assessment? I have pasted you the link to the GOV.UK cache on this benefit:

All my hopes and reams for you
