I hope that I can get some kind of answers to my ongoing problems😔 My problem begin a 4 month's a go. After I got my catheter removed, I had to go to the emergency room to be treated for a very bad UTI. The med's seemed to be working but my relief was short lived. I started to feel bad again so I ended up returning to he ER 3× still having the same problem's now but now I'm told it's a yeast infectio??? I have since developed another problem that I thought was pinworms??? And very bad crawling bug sensation in my hair along with a serious amount of hair loss due to scratching and washing my hair every day it is also very brittle and when I look at it up close it looks like sand is growing on each strand and I have Sandie grit all throughout my scalp. I also have what seems like worms in my private area. I'm at my lowest point of dispair right now, I pray that I am able to get some kind of answers. This situation has taken a toll on my life!!! Please help me.

Is your GP available. ER do not have time for some length of conversation.nhs.uk/Conditions/Threadwor...

Pinworms are also known as threadworms .

Above link is Uk but advise is sound.

UTI situation often is 2 pronged attack anti bs and cream.

Medics we are not on this forum but others may have some other experiences.

Changing bedclothes is always a good measure.

We have fragile skins in my family so bath and bed concerns are part of our lives.

Hi pakalk

I am sorry you are so poorly.

The problem is that because most of us are in the UK it is difficult for us to recommend things.

Also as our skit has said we are not medical professionals and so that is a problem too.

It sounds to me as though your whole body is run down.

There is one thing you could try with your hair. Washing it every day will actually be making the situation worse in my humble opinion. Nits/bugs prefer clean hair.

If you cover your hair with conditioner and run it through with a nit comb that should eventually get rid of what is in your hair. When my daughter was young she was always picking up nits from school. The only way I was able to get rid of them in the end was with the conditioner and comb.

It is a tedious job, especially if you have long hair, but does work.

Do you have a regular GP that you can see? It sounds as though you may need antibiotics, but again, I am not a doctor so cannot really advise you.

I wish there was more I could say to try to help, but I have no idea what is available where you are.

I hope you manage to get things sorted soon.

Best wishes.

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and understanding.

Have you had a diagnosis of fibro or are you still being assessed?

Have you been to your doctor about your hair problems? There is a condition caused by yeast which has the same symptoms and it is helped by using Canesten Cream gently rubbed in twice daily. It will take a few weeks before the hair grows back properly but by then there will be little to show of the initial cause. It is similar to Cradle Cap that you find on babies scalps. You should do this down below too.

I would also go back to your doctor with a fresh urine sample to send for laboratory testing to find the real cause of your problems. Clearly the medications you have been given so far have not worked for you, especially as it seems they have caused the demise of the "good" bugs.

(Hence the yeast/thrush has taken hold)

Hope you get some relief very soon and look forward to seeing you around the forum.

I WOULD LIKE THANK ALL WHO REPLIED TO MY POST. IT'S BEEN A DIFFICULT YEAR FOR MY PARTNER AND I. I STRUGGLE DAILY WITH THIS, AND IT REALLY MAKES ME WONDER WHY HASN'T ANY OF MY VISITS TO THE ER HERE IN FLORIDA BEEN ABLE OR TRIED TO BE OF BETTER HELP IN THIS. EVERY DAY I'M GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE TYPE OF PROBLEMS WITH ALL THE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED LONG A GO. I CAN ONLY HOPE IT I WILL RECOVER SOONER RATHER THAN LATER FROM THIS AND THAT THIS HASN'T TAKEN A UNRECOVERABLE TOLL ON MY LIFE BEFORE IT'S ALL OVER. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO GAVE THEIR INPUT I WILL POST ON ALL PROGRESS IN MY QUEST FOR RECOVERY. P.S. I'M SORRY I FAILED TO MENTION THAT I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN. I AM NOT SURE IF IT WILL HELP ADD CLARITY TO MY PLIGHT. I SAY THIS WITH THE HOPE THAT THERE MIGHT BE MORE INFORMATION THAT PERTAiNS TO ME AND OTHERS.

Re the yeast infection have you tried probiotics? Apparently Symprove is the best. See link below. symprove.com/symprove-expla...

Also I would suggest giving up eating anything with yeast or sugar in it as this feeds a yeast infection.

I would like to add a possible solution for your brittle hair.

You can use a protein based 'mask/wash' using either egg, rye flour, gelatine. If you use egg it could be the whole egg or just a yolk, ensure that only slightly warm water is used on your hair otherwise your hair will be full of scrambled egg. Do not use egg more than once a month.

You may also use Conditioner only as shampoo will dry your hair more, Conditioner has cleansing agent too, use it just s you would shampoo.

Good luck with all your issues.

Hi patalk - I think the advice to get to your GP is the right advice for the UTI... My mother in law developed a series of UTIs and they kept treating her but not getting her well. It turned out that she had a strain called klebsiella, and it required a very specific treatment. I'm sorry I'm no help with the hair situation, except to maybe suggest some neem oil products? Neem oil has a lot of fatty acids to help moisturize skin and hair, and it serves as an insecticide as well in case that is the problem. I would not use the neem without a carrier oil, like an extra virgin coconut or olive oil. I wish you the best of luck in getting this straight..

Not what you're looking for?
