Hi all, just got home from A&E after having upper left chest pain. I thought it was a a problem left over from having Covid in August but tests were clear so the doctors are putting it down to my fybro. Has anybody had similar issues?
Thanks 👍

Yes, and never got a satisfactory explanation, could it be Costochondritis?
If it’s still worrying you contact your Gp as it could be a multitude of things ranging from acid reflux to a muscular problem. Our fibro bodies are amazing aren’t they constantly keeping us on our toes 🙄
Sorry you ended up in A & E. I have had similiar and it was diagnosed as costochondritis. See how it goes and if it doesn't clear up I would make an appointment to see your GP. Take care.
I suffer from costochondritis and the pain can be horrific. Inflammation of the sternum and rib cage. Could be that? Surprised the hospital never suggested it.
Hi, yes my chest pain is down to costochondritis. It can be really painful & ive had a couple of hospital visits, ( i thought i was having a heart attack). I felt a bit daft but the doctors & nurses were so kind telling me it is common that costo pain is mistaken for heart pain & they would always want us to come to hospital to check rather than leave it. My doctor also yold me that my acid reflux could also give me vhest pain. make sure you get it checked with your doctor. Keep smiling & your not alone in this 😁😘
Thank you, I thought it was more to do with covid I had in August. Chest pain is quite worrying so I'm glad I went to hospital. Fibro is so unpredictable and I'm convinced that it does develope! I'll try a cold shower later see if that helps 🥶
Yes I constantly suffer with this. I am taking gabapentin for my fibro and when I am very troubled by this chest pain I increase the dosage with effect. GP doesn't know this yet but I will not suffer pain if there is an easy way around it.
increasing dosages out with the prescribed dosage without advice is not normally a great idea. Definelty worth talking to GP. If it was paracetamol and over a 1g per 4 hours then you could be in trouble relatively quickly as just one example.
Using this as an example as it is something everyone knows and has available to them and where an increased dosage can be quickly harmful.
