Haven't posted for a while hope everyone is as well as can be.
A quick question, I have for the last 6 weeks been suffering from chest and Rib pain to point I thought it was heart related but a visit to the doctor has excluded that. It is so painful to the point my ribs hurt to touch down the sides and under the breast area. Sometimes it's a constant ache then turns to a sharp stabbing pain. Along with this I have a painful neck and shoulder that feels like a burning pain and sometimes a sharp pain in the shoulder blade area when breathing in.
Does this all sound like a fibro flare and can anyone recommend a way to alleviate it?
Have tried heat packs and currently taking naproxen.
Thanks for any advice.

That actually sounds like costochondritis to me which is inflammation of the connective tissue around the rib cage as you say just touching it can be so painful. Lyrica (Pregablin) helped me with the shooting, burning sensation. I found freeze gel very gently smoothed over the painful area helps and also a soak in warm water with handfuls of Epsom salts also helps. Until it eases try to make all upper body movements very slow and gentle no reaching up if you can avoid it. Hope you feel better soon.x
Thank you for your response I will ask the doctor about lyrica. It is awful isn't it doesn't matter how I lay or sit it hurts. I've also found that my arms hurt with it like a deep pain down the inside of my arm. And a constant feeling of indigestion. Just want it to end now 6 weeks has been long enough!
Morning, when I have had this, I found that seeing an osteopath helped. They showed me some gentle stretches and reminded me that doing some relaxing breathing exercises would help. Might be worth investigating? Certainly helped me!
Hi, I’m buying capsules from Amazon. I was using turmeric powder and mixing into a paste with a little milk, then adding more warm milk to make a drink - gargling this mix is great for sore throats! For everyday, I find the capsules are easier at the moment, but the powder is cheaper!
