Hi I’ve just joined this forum and wondering if this is a symptom of fibromyalgia sometimes when I close my eyes they feel like they’re moving rapidly from side to side and I feel sick and dizzy this can last up to 10 minutes and mostly at night also if I bend over even slightly I feel dizzy and lightheaded and when I’m walking I can suddenly loose balance and fall to the side all of these are happening quite a lot is it fibromyalgia or do I need to see my doctor. Thanks .

Is this a symptom of fibromyalgia
Hi there, to me it sounds more like vertigo. I would suggest you have your GP check it out xx
Sorry about the symptoms, I have been there and had it all. In my case there is an overlap between Fibro and Degenerative Disc symptoms.
Alway check these things out with your doctors. After 5 years I still visit hospitals for the colourful symptoms of my conditions, It’s slow but worth it.
Take care x
Jumping on the bandwagon. Do you, by any chance have constant left sided head, neck, shoulder and back pain. Only asking because I also have degeneration of the spine, plus spondylosis and other disc issues, but my pain is always put down to fibromyalgia. I am so desperate I am also pursuing the hypothyroid/ Hodgkinson's possibility. It is such a minefield, I think we all clutch at any straws we can.
Hi Spacereturn😊🌿🌸🦋
The darting of the eyes side to side is called nystagmus. It is a symptom of inner ear conditions.
The nausea lightheadedness and loss of balance are all symptoms of inner ear conditions too.
An ENT ears nose throat doctor treats inner ear problems.
Keep a journal of your symptoms
Dates times how long spells last activities food eaten and what you tried to do for it if anything.
Take the journal with you to see the ENT so you have all the data with you instead of trying to recall on the spot.
Take a list of meds including over the counter or OTCs and herbal/supplements you are taking. Also list your allergies to meds foods and others for the ENT to take into consideration.
I suffer with bilateral Ménière’s disease which includes all the symptoms you have mentioned.
But there are many other conditions that cause the same ones too.
Best wishes for a proper diagnosis and treatment sweetie.

I had the rocks (crystals) in my ears fall out of place. I had the exact same symptoms. I went to a hearing and balance speciality clinic and they were able to move my head around in such a way as they could get the"rocks" back where they were supposed to go. It was amazing!
Can you tell me what the procedure was called? I'm asking because I saw a programme on TV where the doc laid the patient on the couch, with his head over the side and manipulated it, to get rid of head pain, which worked straight away. I am asking because the man's symptoms sounded to be similar to the pain I have been living with for years. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of it, but I am sure they mentioned crystals in the ear.
Hope you are able to help.
Sorry, I can't remember the name of the procedure, but they put a helmet that covered my eyes on my head. It was black inside but I was supposed to look straight in front of me. Then they had a computer screen that they were looking at. They moved my head all over in different directions while looking at how my eyes responded until the crystal went back where it was supposed to go. It was at Intermountain Hearing and Balance in Utah in the USA. A call or email to them might be able to tell you the procedure. I will try to find the website and send you a link.
The name of the procedure is Electronystagmography (ENG) or videonystagmography (VNG). They did the video one with me. The problem with the ear is called BPPV... Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Hope that helps. Good luck to you!
Me too. Only it took 9 months.
Both sides dislocated. Whenever the Eply maneuver was done on one ear the other one side dislodged.
So off balance had to crawl. Terrible 9 months.
It is an amazing procedure to reset them isn’t it.

Hi sound like vertigo i suffer from it myself and it is awful I also have issues with narrowing of the vertebrae through my neck and the doctors are at this moment doing tests as my imbalance and falling my also have links to that I hope you get help from you local hospital soon as there is only so much Gp's can do
If you are having balance problems, please see your GP. It may be nothing much, but best to get it checked out, as it could be dangerous for you to go out and perhaps be caught with this whilst crossing a road or in a busy place.
Cheers, Midori
