I have just heard about the butterfly rash is this common . I don't get a rash but Ido have very itchy skin. Also very itchy spots mainly on my arms

A butterfly rash is usually associated with the symptoms of a condition called Lupus. I have pasted you a NHS Choices link to their cache on Lupus:

I was thinking the same. Lupus can easily be confused for fybromyalgia. Also secondary to other diseases such as raynauds so worth getting checked
