Venlafaxine itchy skin

Good morning. I have a wee question about venlafaxine. Has anyone experienced very sensitive itchy skin while taking it?? I'm super sensitive to meds so when I was prescribed venlafaxine 37.5mg I cut the pill into 4 and started on 1 quarter of pill. I got a few side effects... not sleeping great, feeling a drunk hangover the next day and sensitive itchy skin. I took quarter a pill for 3 nights then upped it to half a pill and TBH I was managing fairly well until the sensitive itchy skin increases and it was very distracting and uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this. I didn't take a pill last night but my skin feels kinda the same this morning. I'm not sure if it's a weired anxiety/stress response, the meds or something else. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏 thanks 😊.

Hi elle 247, hope you are well today. I don't know if this helps but, I get itchy skin, crawling sensation under skin from head to toe even when not had any medication, it's usually when I'm in a flare up and or have been overdoing it and not had enough sleep, I take an antihistamine to calm it. Hope you have a good day 🙏

I also take venlafaxine. I used to take 300mg per day and in that time I had all of the symptoms you mentioned. I take an antihistamine daily. However I now only take 75mg per day and touch wood I haven’t had any itching. Hope this helps

Hi, I have been on venlafaxine for years and I have itchy skin but not all the time. I was informed by my dr that it's a symptom of Fibromyalgia and have read this online too.

I have taken venlafaxine for several years and haven't experienced anything like that. Have you tried taking any antihistamines? It might help.

hi Elle

I’m on 300mg of venlafaxine and I do get itchy skin but I believe it’s more to do with a combination of fibromyalgia and menopause, aloe Vera gel is very soothing and my go to for the itch

Take care
