tears are back

creeps up on you. starts with feelings of restlessness, headaches, icicles in the blood, nausea, aching increases. i've been caught up in the story of The Little Couple. Inspirational programme, straw that breaks the camel's back in watching this amazing woman manage her blessings (not least of which is her lovely hubbie) and her problems. Now she has The Big C and in need of chemo. that did it. floodgates open and i feel drained, shivering. i think i'll leave the next episode 'til tomorrow. in the meantime, here i go again. Tulip xx

Hi Tulip,

Is watching this program eliciting a helpful emotional release or is it making things worse for you today?

I hope you feel better soon. :)

Interesting question. I felt this coming, but I'm leaving the recordings in my planner for now. The series is usually so upbeat, and I think I've become attached to this woman, which is a bit odd! I'm not generally a follower of reality tv personalities but I feel so lonely sometimes, perhaps that made me vulnerable.

I've calmed down, so perhaps the tears were helpful. Thank you C-H. Tulip xx

Hi Tulip,

Please hold no judgment of yourself for your sense of attachment or empathy with this person. It's a blessing when any of us can feel a sense of empathy.

When we have empathy, we often feel the emotions of the person with whom we experience empathy. If that person is feeling "sad," this sadness taps into the well of our emotions, in this case, her sadness (or the sadness of her story) taps into the well of sadness within you. This is why you feel sadness so deeply, because it's held deep within yourself.

Thus, the release of emotion(s) was a release of your own emotions and very healthy. :)

Just my thoughts on this. Take whatever helps and leave the rest. ;)

To Your Healing,

Today has been a case in point. Tears of laughter, daughter + youngest grandson, precious times, you cant put a price on the joy from close family and even more so with children. Exhausted, serious pain, but so worthwhile. Blessed indeed! Tulip xx

My pleasure. You sound like a person with healthy priorities. Always worth going back to basics, what really matters in this complicated world we live in.

I had chosen to learn healthy priorities in order to enjoy life, despite the often severe health challenges.

Thankfully, we do have some options in how we choose to respond to life's challenges. :)

Love, of all types, has become a priority for me.

I believe we are here to learn to love -- to learn to express and to demonstrate love, to give love and to receive love. :) Just my own humble opinion.

To Life's Many Blessings!

Tears do play their part in healing, not good to bottle things up. I hope you feel better soon xx

Are you psychic or have an incredible memory? :) More assessments for more help generally + still trying to arrange Residential respite whilst Council install gas central heating. Hey, 12 month anniversary next month! And still trying to get my broken riser recliner replacement - watch this space over the next week. Or so. Maybe. Visit today quite promising, but past experience means I tend to lean on the side of caution.

Thank you for your ongoing support. I hope life is more than manageable for you. :) I do appreciate your kindness. Tulip xx

That seems quite positive but I understand your caution. I hope it all goes well for you and enjoy the Little Couple :)

I watched it during the night and I agree with you! For such a delicate lady, well, she just blows me away! Those children are so adorable. Decorating that tree, amazing. Keep watching!

Just to let you know that the next episode is more positive, with lovely scenes of the whole family decorating the Xmas tree. I am a huge fan of the Little Couple too - and cry with every episode, whether happy or sad! Ali x

Thank you so much! It is a programme I look forward to. As you say, trials and tribulations, but tears amongst the joys it has always struck me how much they enjoy life. I did not see this coming, which I think hit me at the wrong moment. I will watch that next episode tomorrow. Tulip xx

Their love of life, of each other and now their fabulous children just shines out. I am a huge fan. Their home is wonderful and even Rocky & Maggie (the dogs - and the pet shop!) just makes me want to go to Houston again (I had a short visit there back in 1990). It is one of the highlights of my week to sit down and enjoy the next chapter in their lives. Ali x
