Hi Niki k5, have you been tested for osteo arthritis? My fingers cramp up and are twisting out of shape because of it. I have to change hands to ease them, even something as simple as holding a mug of coffee for example causes pain, but I find using the heat of the mug helps if I wrap my fingers around it. heat treatment helps as does gently opening and closing my hands. Gentle hugs, Julie xxx

I have the same problems as you and Julie and mine is caused by osteo. Sometimes something like Ibuprophen gel rubbed in can help or putting them in some warm water to sort of get them going again. I also wear those nylon supportive gloves as they also keep the palms and part of your fingers warm but leave the tips bare so you can more easily pick up things. I also cradle my hot mug after I have drunk the contens to thaw them out.

If you get then changing colour and get pain if they have been cold and you are suddenly in the warm it could be Raynauld;s which I also have a touch of. it can be extremely painful.

Hope you can find a cause for yours and are able to get some treatment.x

I have Reynaud's and osteo arthritis too. I use voice recognition on the computer, it really helps - I couldn't work without it.

I agree with the others that warmth helps a lot - soak your hands in warm water first thing in the morning and move the fingers very gently in the warmth.

Hope you get some relief soon.
