Sorry your suffering so much. I am on amitriptyline which helps but doesn't take away completely (my mobility is worst). I know lots of people have posted different experiences with different meds. Worth a try? Don't suffer in silence, get your Dr to try and sort.
Thanks jellyinpain, I have tried that but it made me sick, deep down I know there is nothing that will take the pain away completely but even just a bit so I can function day to day without feeling like I do right now. You have a good day and thanks for your support.
I have found gabapentin (neurontin) to be most helpful, combined with swimming or hydrotherapy for pain levels, and heat from any source.. I hope you find some relief soon, it is exhausting being in pain continually,
Here is an update on where I am now, spoke to my doctor he has increased my pills to 2x 4 times a day of Tramadol which is the max I can take according to the doc, I have to try this for the next week if that help great,if not he wants me to go back onto some of the meds I have had previously which I'm not keen on doing .
So my meds are fluoxetine 2at night, tramadol 2x4 times a day. Will give that a shot wish me luck my fibro friends. Night. All
Do you not take something for the fibro? To treat the nerve pain such as gabepentin (neurontin) or lyrica? You should be on something like that and then given something for pain. Like vicodin or percocet, not tramadol. Our pain is too much and too real. Tramadol is like taking Tylenol and you're right- it won't touch it! If your Dr continues to keep you in pain, I would ask for a referral to a pain clinic. Good luck, and I hope you're feeling good today.
I thought the tramadol was for treating the fibro? My doc has never mentioned anything about different meds to me.im new to this only diagnosed in May.
