For a few months now I have been experiencing pain in my heel & more recently in my ankles. The pain is intense, like burning pain.
My fibro mostly affects my whole back, neck, shoulders and head. Could my foot pain be fibro too? I've not had any injury to my ankles but the pain can keep me up at night.

Mostly my pains for my fibro are in my lower back and legs, I also get pains in my feet and ankles. Mine is part of my fibro. Sometimes it makes it difficult to put my foot down and put weight on it and it has kept me up at nights. With anything new it may be a good idea to get it checked out
Hi, its my ankles and balls of my feet and toes. Between us we can do the whole head , shoulder, knees and toes song sometimes my anklesvfeel so tight you would think the skin is going to split..thankfully so far it hasn't
Haha that is so true! Ouchy, that's how my heel hurts. I have been alternating what shoes I wear to see if that helps, which I think it does a little (maybe), but at night the pain can be horrendous and wakes me loads when I've finally got to sleep!
Can you take a pain killer before bed, maybe it would get through the night. I am on Amitriptyline and take them in the evening, it is to help me sleep as I couldn't get a decent nights sleep at all. I can now sleep most nights through the pains, but the day time is a different story. Bought myself a nice pair of sensible shoes as my hubby calls them, they are loafers and have cushioned insoles and are leather. Fit beautifully when I bought them yesterday afternoon and so comfy. Last night I tried them on for my daughter to see, I couldn't get my foot into one of them and the other hurt my ankle really badly so had to whip it off my ankles had swollen up again and right up to my calf. Mayrose54 had said in a post a while back about having trotters, I think I know what she meant now
I get burning and stabbing pain in my feet, nerve pain I am told, but I also have osteoarthritis in my feet plus they, like my body, are affected by my HMS. If in doubt, always check with your GP.
I have the doctors on Monday, so I will mention it to her then. I have a feeling that it is nerve pain, which I have already in my back and neck and have pregablin for.
I have this also my legs and feet have changed shape and colour I now have to wear a size bigger shoe,my knees just hurt no matter what I do, I'm determined to stay mobile even if I do waddle like a duck at least I'm moving lol! My balance is also another issue sometimes i must look as if I'm drunk as I do the 2 steps forward and 3 steps back routine. Fibro just brings out almost any thing from brain fog to oouch I'm hurting,so your not alone I do hope you get this sorted and the medication helps you. Sending a huge healing ((((((HUG)))))) and prayers for you. Regards D x
I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.
I am the same as Jillylin, in that I have nerve pain (due to sciatic nerve damage) and this creates chronic pain in my feet and ankles. This does not mean to say that you have nerve damage, as it could be Fibro related? It really would be best to discuss this with your GP or Specialist to get to the bottom of it and rule anything else out?
Thanks for your message! I already have nerve pain in my neck, no reason was given! But it could just be down to fibro, which I'm hoping its not as cant imagine it spreading any further! Already having a hard time of it.
I have the doctors on Monday so I will speak to her then.
Oh dear, I feel your pain. I wish I could stay off my feel but I work in residential and repute care for children with additional support needs .. Always on the go!
I worked standing all the time in a factory, in 2003 I couldn't take it anymore. Between the serve IBS and feet and all the other pain I could no longer work. I miss it as I'd worked there for 20 years and it was depressing but my body won out on showing me my limits. Best of luck to you sweetheart!!!! xxx Mitzi
Oh dear, I can imagine that would cause a lot of pain. I wouldn't say I'm constantly on my feet, by constantly doing something, if it's not driving kids around or moving & handling. It's a lot and I only work 25 hours, could you imagine 40 hours? Eeeeekk!
