I can get small line like bruises on my hand when I exert my hand to open a bottle that is difficult to open. I also have had bruises in my big toe when I have held it in a flexed position for a while. I have talked to my gp and he did blood tests with no answers. I also have hashimotos and I have osteo arthritis I take lisinopril for hypertension and clenil 200 for asthma. I have bruised easily for the past few years (53) & female. Can anyone give me any indication of what this may be? I have also had a diagnosis of fibromyalgia from a rheumatologist . Many thanks in anticipation for any ideas or advice that you may have.

Hi Castlepoint
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing a bruising problem and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.
I have pasted you a link to a previous question on the forum as the member was having the same problems as you, so I thought you may find it useful:

I have also pasted you the Fibro symptoms from NHS Choices and FibroAction:

I have had a look at the side effects for your asthma medicines and your lisinopril for hypertension, on either bruising does not appear to be one of the problems with this medication. I have pasted the links for you below in case you wanted to have a look yourself:

I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding the answers that you are looking for.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes, I get bruising just like that - even squeezing a flannel can leave me with bruises on my fingers. They are very painful. I get ganglions on the finger joints too. I showed them to a rheumatologist once but he seemed totally uninterested! I have always bruised easily but not like this. I've learnt to be extremely careful when doing anything with my hands.
Sorry I can't be more helpful! Please do let me know if your dr comes up with an explanation.

Yes I've always bruised really easily even from light taps or knocks and they are often quite blue too
I have no idea why I bruise easily but think I am more sensitive at the moment because I'm anaemic.
It is possibly worth having a chat to your GP about your concerns with this issue as then maybe they can start to find out why. I see Ken has beaten me to it and provided you with some very good links
Going informed to your GP about what you think it is could help you out when talking to the GP too.
Take care and do let us know how things progress sending fibro busting fluffies to you

I bruise very easily castlepoint. And no matter how much I rack my brains as to why, I just don't know. The base of my toes, the backs of my hands, my abdomen....who knows?? I've just noticed another one on my left forearm...it's small, red and circular. A little while ago, while I was driving, I was convinced there was something sharp on the steering wheel, but when I looked there was a small dark bruise on the inside of my left middle finger! I would also be grateful for any insights as to what causes these? X
Just thought I would add a little coincidence in here! My son came to visit earlier today and he brought me one of those automatic electric can, bottle and jar openers! It is really fantastic, as I always end up with a lot of pain opening things.
Take care

Hi. I too get the line like bruises. They are blue and raised like veins at first and then turn into bruises and it is really sore to touch. My hands are one of the worst places for pain, stiffness etc too. Totally fed up with it. Has any meds you have tried helped with this? Also need advice if anyone out there has used anything to help with head sweats. I look like ive been in the shower, ist not when im warm necessarily and not at night only. It can be freezing and it just comea from nowhere xx
